Back To Back Wins For Pylon View Lofts
.
Well the second race of the season has come and gone and another good race we had here at Packmoor where 17 members sent 372 birds. I think most members had good returns so hopefully we will have another good turnout next week. The loft in form at Packmoor is that of Dave Jones who again with his small team of widowhood cocks took 1st and 2nd in the club and maybe 2nd Fed this week. His first bird is nominated plus being in the pontoon, so he must have fancied it a lot. Dave only
sent 12 birds to the first race and 10 to the second race and to get two firsts and two seconds in a strong club like Packmoor, who send around 350 birds per race, that is really good going.
A proud Dave Jones - and rightly so!
Another lad who deserves a mention is Jamie Reiling who is also a member of Packmoor and who was telling me last week about how he has been flying pigeons for 5 or six years and has still not got his maiden win under his belt yet. Well this week it arrived with him winning in the Kidsgrove club so from all the lads and lasses in Packmoor well done. I know Jamie has had his ups and downs in the world of pigeon racing but he has stuck at it and I hope he has more success in the future. Had a telephone call off Andy Hargreaves telling us (Roberts Bros) that the bird that has provisionally topped the Moorlands Fed was bred by us - nice of him to let us know - but as everyone knows you have to have a good fancier to race the birds and in Andy you have one of the very best, so congrats to Andy.
Back at Packmoor the other positions in the Cheltenham race went to Roberts Bros who took 3rd 5th & 6th and in 4th place was Bailey and Proctor.
That's all for this week just to say things have not always run as smoothly as they do now over the years at Packmoor. We now have the girls who do a good job, they take the money and are ready to help any of the members (filling in race sheets, making sure all pools and noms are written in) which in turn makes it easier on a Saturday night when the results are done.
Well that's it for this week.
