YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE

CHELMSFORD - AUGUST 2014

The Combine raced from Chelmsford on the 30th of August 2014, liberated in another strong Westerly wind sending them straight to the east coast. Topping the Combine and the South Section is Graham Sparkes of Patrington on 1488. Topping the North Section is John & Les Hill of Hunmanby on 1407. Topping the Central Section is Gary Cox of Hull on 1396. Topping the West Section is Mick Burdett of Norton on 1292. Well done to everyone.

Coastal South Section

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 7 members sent 240 birds with the red card going to G. H. Sparkes on 1488 with a Premier Stud Albert Derwa. Second place went to R. Wright on 1487 with a Van Loon  x Van der Merwe. Third place went to G. H. Sparkes on 1487 with a Premier Stud Rauwe Sablon. Fourth place went to Reg Wright on 1482 with a Van Loon x Maris.

Withernsea Homing Society. 5 members sent 50 birds with the red card going to Dave Beadle on 1434 with a Premier Stud Gaston Van de Wouwer which topped the Combine last week and won the club nom this week. Second place went to Dave Beadle on 1430 with a Premier Stud Gaston Van de Wouwer Third place went to Dave Beadle on 1428 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place went to Dave Beadle on 1417 with a Premier Stud Albert Derwa.

Bridlington D.F.C. 8 members sent 133 birds with the red card going to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1437 with a Premier Stud Geerinckx which had a 1st 2 weeks ago. Second place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1420 with a self bred Premier Herman Ceuster. Third place went to John & Linda Chadwick 1419 with a Premier Stud Rauwe Sablon. Fourth place went to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1437 with a Premier Stud Geerinckx

Flamborough Homing Society. 3 members sent 20 birds with the red card going to Mick Holdsworth on 1303 with a Karl Fairbanks of Halifax gift bird. Second place went to John Kemp on 1111 with a self bred pigeons. Third place went to Paul Lawson on 1004 with a self bred pigeon.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 6 members sent 104 birds with the red card and Fourth place going to Phil & June Edmonds on 1349 and 1286 with his Vandenabeele family.  Second place went to AM & JA Bettney on 1318 with their old Serion blood. Third place went to Barry Blenkinsop on 1307 no details.

Coastal North Section

Hunmanby Homing Society. 5 members sent 58 birds with the red card going to John & Les Hill on 1407 with a Bussey Chapel x Flor Engels which had a 2nd at Billericay. Second and Third places went to Tony Robson on 1403 and 1368 with a pair off Mr & Mrs Hothams Marina Van de Veldes. Fourth place went to John & Les Hill on 1332 with the nest mate to the winner.

Scarborough Social Club. 8 members sent 133 birds with the red card going to T & P Douthwaite on 1363 with a Leo Herman x Arien Verreckt. Second place went to Dave Pickering on 1339 with another Ken & Sue Skelton gift birds. Third place went to Derek Howard and Paddy Johnson on 1337 with another Keith Arkless pigeons. Fourth place went to Willie Garnett on 1334 with one of his Vandenabeeles.

Whitby Premier Club. 9 members sent 203 birds with the red card going to S. Mallinson & Son on 1364 with a direct Louis Thijs Hereman Ceuster cock. Second place went to R. A Winspear (one Loft) on 1364 with a Richard Parker of Pickering Premier stud Marina van de Velde hen was 3rd club Billericay last week. Third and Fourth place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1364 with a pair of self bred direct Louis Thijs Hereman Ceuster hens. R W Winspear wins the pools

Filey Homing Society. 4 members sent 52 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1404 with a self bred Rudi Diels x Marina Van de Velde. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1393 with a self bred P. J. Rozier x Koopman. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1389 with a self bred Marina Van de Velde x Koopman. Fourth place went yet again to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1378 with a self bred Marina Van de Velde.

Central Section

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 6 members sent 109 birds with the red card going to Franciosy & Bennett on 1320 with a Majistic Vinx x Lindelauf which won from Sleaford. Second place went to S. Silvester on 1269 with a Janssen cock. Third place went to S. Silvester on 1269 with a Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place went to G. Rudd on 1212 with a Hofkin x Hereman Ceuster hen.

Hull Millennium Club. 8 members sent 89 birds with the red card Second and Fourth place going to K & H Green on 1352 and 1316 with his Ark Family and he puts it down to training and good management. Third place went to Mike Wood on 1307 with a self bred Mark Caderwell of Doncaster Staf Van Reet that won Sleaford.  

Cottingham Homing Society. 8 members sent 69 birds with the red card going to G & G Smith on 1272 with a Boxmeer x Corbet Busschaert which won last week and takes all the pools this week. Second Third and Fourth places went to Kev Kingston & Family on 1268, 1259 and 1254 all with his Basket breed.

Driffield Homing Society. 6 members sent 59 birds with the red card going to Sam Jackson on 1386 with a Clive Lister x Chris Vasey Hereman Ceuster x Gus Janssen which was 2nd club 4th combine last week. Second place went to Sam Jackson on 1366 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster. Third place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1360 with a Bob Mallinson Van den Brande and takes the pools. Fourth place went to Sam Jackson on 1355 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster  

North Hull Club. 4 members sent 25 birds with the red card going to S. O Loughlin on 1338 with a Mike Wood x Oloughlin which won last week. Second place went to S Oloughlin on 1180 with a Staf Van Reet. Third place went to Barry Kipling on 1169 with a Dave Franciosy bird. Fourth place went to Mick Foster on 1168 with a self bred.

Third place went to Mike Whitley on 1036 with a self bred off a £5 bird at a sale at Doncaster. Fourth place went to Mike Whitley on 858 with a gift bird off Alec Tomlinson of Goole.

Norton I. Flying Club. 11 members sent 200 birds with the red card going to Mick Burdett on 1292 with a Drapa x Leemputten. Second place went to Mick Burdett on 1291 with an A. Tateson of Kirbymoorside Leemputten. Third place went to Brian Dawson on 1286 with a B. Thorpe Leemputten. Fourth place went to Mick Burdett on 1286 with a Leemputten.
