In The Mayfield

George Busteed with his huge circle of friends

It was with considerable pride that our organisation convened to confer a life time achievement award to one of the most renowned subject matter experts ever on the sport of pigeon racing, namely Mr. George Busteed. It should be noted however George had the distinction of being the first ever recipient of the Irish social circle's coveted hall of fame award. This particular hall of fame award not only recognises epic performances but as stated by the presentation m.c whilst describing George, that for us however as racing pigeon fanciers it's our honour to record as not only our most distinguished member but a man of true sporting prowess, a technical genius and a most naturally gifted fancier. As a man a true gent, full of essential quality, humility, integrity and substance. It's our honour and privilege to have George amongst us as his presence and sportsmanship enriches all of us so very much. This long service award was sanctioned by the Irish Homing Union and the turn out on the night was phenomenal in the top of the hill which was packed with George's friends.

A very special thank you to our vice chairman Mr. Tony O' Mahony a member and great friend of George's who very unselfishly and discreetly had the evening's liquid consumption and food sorted for our club, what an asset he is. Once again another double top for the Mayfield r.p.c. with the added benefit of involving the public in an excellent public relations exercise.
