Etwall & District Flying Club Presentation 2019.

 

Etwall & District Flying Club recently held their presentation evening at the Royal British Legion Club in Repton. Presenting the prizes and guest of honour for the evening was former club member David Williams. Club president Jim Summers welcomed everyone then thanked all the officials and members for the hard work they had done over the last twelve months making this club the successful club that it is. Then it was on to the presentation.

Top prize winner for the 2019 season was club secretary Alan Peach who had an outstanding season winning 10x1sts, 8x2nds, 5x3rds,10x4ths also winning 1st breeder buyer, with winner being bred by Sam Phillips. Also winning Old bird inland average trophy, Inland average cup, Young bird average cup, Combine average, R. Hough cup, Fougeres cup, T. Childs cup, G. Williamson cup and the Golden Horse Shoe shield winning £231.44 prize money,£234.56 specials,£154.84 pool money,£16 loft pool,£15.50 nominations & 1st & 2nd breeder buyer making a total pay-out of £774.02.Alan also had a good result in the one loft Who Dares Wins Race finishing 10th open. Well done Alan on a fantastic season.

 

Sam Phillips runner up

 

Next up was Sam Phillips winning 2x1sts, 6x2nds, 2x3rds, 3x4ths, J. Childs nominated shield & A & C Perry cup winning £88.31 prize money £48.74 Specials, £136.99 pool money £1.50 loft pool. £5.50 nominations & £56.16 breeder buyer making a total pay-out of £337.20. 

 

Alan Houldsworth

 

Next up was Alan & Liz Houldsworth winning 3x1sts,3x2nds,3x3rds & 4x4ths winning P. Bevan shield £77.63 prize money, £17.25 specials, £122.53 pools, £10 loft pool & £7.50 nominations making a total pay-out of £234.91.

 

Peter & Shirley Harrison

 

Pete & Shirley Harrison came next winning 1x1st,1x2nd,3x3rds & 3x4ths Old Bird Average Cup, Overseas Average Cup, Messac Cup, Mr & Mrs A Houldsworth Cup and the Silver Horse shoe shield winning £63.34 prize money,£76.67 specials, £35.28 pools & £18 loft pool making a total of £194.29.

 

Tony & June Whitehurst

 

Next came Mr & Mrs A.J. Whitehurst ( Tony & June ) winning 2x1sts,3x3rds,2x4ths, Mr & Mrs Houldsworth cup, £51.43 prize money,£10.03 Specials,£42.29 pools,£7.50 nominations,£56.15 breeder buyer making a total of £167.41.June & Tony were second in the breeder buyer with their pigeon being bred by Alan Peach.

 

Willy Horton

 

Willy Horton came next winning 1x1st & 1x3rd £27.17 prize money & £30.78 Specials making a total of £57.95.

 

Neil Crofts

 

Neil Crofts came next winning 1x1st, £19.41 prize money, £1.74 specials making a total of £21.15. The highlight of the season for Neil and his wife Georgia was the arrival of their new baby daughter Isabella.

 

Mick Leszczyszak.

 

Next came Mick Leszczyszak winning £18.44 prize money, £1.76 Specials making a total of £20.20.

 

Reuben Hough

 

Reuben Hough came next winning £13.59 Prize money, £1.67 specials making a total of £15.26.

 

Dennis Shaw.

 

Dennis Shaw came next winning £2.91 prize money.

 

 

Club man of the year was awarded to Alan Peach which was very well deserved for all the hard work he does keeping the club running in a very professional manor.

 

 

After the presentation Dave Williams presented Ann Faulkner with a bouquet of flowers for doing another excellent job of the catering. The flowers were all grown by Alan Peach who i must say is a first-class gardener winning many first prizes and best in shows at the local horticultural society shows.

 

 

Reuben Hough & Dennis Shaw have a combined age between them of 190 years and they are still enjoying their pigeons and I wish you many more years to come. A wonderful achievement well done both of you.
