THE LIGHT

There is a light shining on me; it is the eye of destiny. I look from afar and follow my star, to show the way if I should stray. A voice within is the music of my soul and the instruments within make me whole. The whispering wind tunes my ears, sparkles my eyes and calms the fears. Soft falling rain to ease my pain, in each caress of tender cheeks, as the glistening sun alerts my eyes, to the things I could despise. In my singular lifespan I feel like a simple man, who drank the nectar of life and took his chance in beautiful romance, and in the dark and lonely night saw the light of truth.

When Yesterday Was Mine

Standing on the edge of time, on yesterday that was mine. I took my chance on an earthly romance that led me into an exotic dance, of wonders, joys and sorrows in a land of no tomorrows. The fruits of life were sugar sweet, I kept right on, world at my feet, in the fast lanes, highways and bi-ways, the path I trod was my way. In the cold light of the dawn, I seek another morn and long for yesterday when the world was mine.

MAN AND HIS PLACE IN NATURE

As living beings, humanity shares the planet with a myriad of other life forms. These in the grand scale of the cosmos can be perceived as one united entity of life on planet earth. Each creature has a role to play and is significant in the total web of earthly existence. I believe we have and individual responsibility, to nurture and treasure the vast, yet declining living resources that we share with countless species-from the tiniest microbe to the largest elephant. The practical essence will be the understanding of conservation needs on a global level. I would like to see a rise in spiritual beliefs from within, and generated by nature and active education of the naïve and greedy to reverse the trends of environmental pollution. The ideals are lofty and transcendent, yet the practical needs in reality are onerous and pressing.

THE SPIRIT OF FREEDOM

I felt a rush of free air today and basked in a sudden inner glow of reality. The butterfly that flew and the flower that grew in the garden of my head when not a word was said. I scanned the sky from my inner eye and saw the wonder of the world, in its ever changing faces. A walk through time and space, to a place beyond the race where life was sweet. I did not compete, in the game of life that was the cause of so much strife, as I felt the pulse of inner being of rich reward and so much feeling, that filled my well to overflowing, in the single span of a solitary man.
