NORTHERN EXPANSION OF THE BICC
by Jim Emerton
In time, I see this as a logical consequence of the roaring success of the BICC members, the birds and the momentum of the club. Encouragement of fliers in the Midlands and further north, into Scotland to join the club, could give impetus to consideration of a marking station to serve the Midlands and the north. There is a backcloth of interest to meet the needs of this objective, and interest in participation in many races of the BICC programme. I feel that with real interest and resolve by the committee and its members, then a marking station could result to serve the fanciers’ needs e.g. that fly over 750 miles from Barcelona International. Due attention needs to be afforded to the finance, logistics and need for such a station, and the political process involved, with associated publicity.
