THERE'S NO FAST TRACK TO THE TOP
by Jim Emerton
In a world hell bent on instant gratification, many seek instant success. I started with pigeons 62 years ago and now feel accomplished in my efforts with them. It has been a tour de force of prolonged dedication, with a great deal of research and study, and when hard information was scarce or did not exist. It pays to start with local clubs and earn your stripes through hardship. With the right personality you will do well and develop some expertise and acclaim in the cauldron of fame. The game is psychological and decision based - the good fliers make some right choices of system and original stock. Help from a mentor may reduce your learning time by years, and a great deal of knowledge is in the right books and the media - how you apply the wisdom will determine your future.
