John Clements looks at significant team performances from
NATIONAL FLYING CLUB CARENTAN (OB) 2013
This is a list of fanciers who achieved good section results in the NFC Carentan race of 2013. Only six of them have won their section but all of them have put up a significant team performance. This is the kind of race that the Curtis Wall and Lunt team, who I focused on in my last article on Elimar, are likely to target. I have assumed that if a loft times two or more pigeons in the top 10 in their section they have made a special effort for that race. This is the type of event ‘The Boys’ will be having a go at.
It is possible from this list to see which sections were in a favourable position on the day by noting the 10th section position in the Open result. In this particular race Sections ‘G’ and ‘E’ and ‘B’ did the best and were the most competitive judging by the open place of the 10th section position but the small section ‘C’ also did well considering the numbers they sent. Only four people managed to time four pigeons in the first ten in their section. I expect this to improve as fanciers begin to specialize more and more in the coming years. Those who fail to target races will no longer be competitive.
