Every now and again someone gets a “bee in their bonnet” and starts a cascade of comments that are mostly incorrect, I say incorrect because many pass comments before they have checked the facts. This has happened recently with our business, Elimar Pigeon Services Limited.

This came about because a member of the auction site did not adhere to the Terms & Conditions and was quite rightly sent a standard email, which he objected too. Even after the problem was resolved this fancier decided to go onto an online Forum/Group and try and discredit Elimar. As is nearly always the case, other’s jump on the bandwagon before they even think about the “Snowball” effect, which swiftly turns in “Trolling” in the current social media age, which is a common occurrence nowadays on Forums/Groups, whether pigeons or otherwise.

What is annoying is a member of this online Forum/Group, who is also a moderator has blatantly lied in the past, which we can 100% prove, as we have emails.  He is a nobody in the pigeon world, who just likes to cause problems, so no one has a go at him. Also, to try and find a solution we made several phone calls to fanciers in the area where one of the Administrators of the Forum/Group lives and none of the people we spoke to had even heard of him in the pigeon world. So, it makes me wonder who is actually running the Forum/Group.

This type of content found on the Forum/Group does the sport of pigeon racing no good whatsoever, you are illustrating a toxic environment, for all to see and reading such rubbish would not encourage anyone to come into pigeon racing, when at a time, there are people behind the scenes who are trying hard to encourage and promote the sport. 

The girls in the office were upset at the abusive language they endured and as I had said to me, “Once you start to get abusive in any discussion you have shown your true character and lost the argument” I was told that by my manager when I worked at Rolls Royce in Crewe, and he was right.

At Elimar Pigeon Services Limited we take pride in the way we conduct ourselves, we work tirelessly to help others within the sport of pigeon racing, whether it be the day-to-day running of the business, overseeing local pigeon clubs or supporting numerous charities each year.  

Elimar Pigeon Services Limited shall be seeking legal advice, in regards to Libel action, as we have a full detailed account of all the online messages which were posted on this Forum/Group, which will be presented to our solicitor. If you check the UK Law (Defamation Act 2013), all members of the Forum/Group are liable for their own written defamatory comments in a court case, as well as the Forum/Group Administrators and Moderators.
