Bedhmpton - June 2014

The Solway Federation (54/350) was down at Bedhampton on Saturday 21st June. Liberated at 07.00am into a ‘no wind’ report the birds made velocities well into the 1100s. Topping the Federation this week is W J Smith of Nith Valley, his yearling Blue Cock had a velocity of 1196 and had forty yards to spare. Springfield fancier Raymond White takes 2nd spot doing 1156. D Nordon of Langholm takes 3rd Federation on 1155, followed by Jim Ferguson of Eastriggs taking 4th on 1130. Jim’s clubmate C Halbert is 5th doing 1129. G Dalgliesh & Son of Hoddam are 6th with a velocity of 1123. John Gilmour also Hoddam is 7th. Dumfries fancier W Swan is 8th on 1117. Mr & Mrs Gus Power from Springfield take 9th on 1116 and Mr & Mrs Karl Guenther & Grandson from Dumfries are 10th doing 1113.

G Dalgliesh & Son takes this one on a velocity of 1123, followed by J Gilmour in 2nd spot doing 1121. Jimmy Dalgliesh is 3rd doing 1096 and W Gilmour 4th on 1030.

Springfield H.C. 7/61

Raymond White timed two here to take 1st and 4th on velocities of 1156 and 1091. Mr & Mrs Gus Power are 2nd doing 1116, followed by Brian Glendinning taking 3rd on 1107.  

Annan H.C. 7/36

The loft of J F McCarton had an easy win here timing in to take 1st Club with a velocity of 102, followed by A Simmons who timed two to take 2nd and 4th doing 1042 and 937. W Jamieson is 3rd doing 1029.

Eastriggs H.C. 9/60

Jim Ferguson timed two here to take 1st and 3rd Club with velocities of 1130 and 1097. C Halbert is 2nd Club on 1129 and the McMorrine Bros are 4th on 1091. 

Brydekirk H.C. 6/64

Scott Irving Jnr (Loft 2) takes this one with a velocity of 1095.Mrs Scaife & John Garner takes the 2nd spot doing 1083, followed by RJB Renwick taking 3rd on 1080. It’s Scott Irving Jnr (Loft 1) in again to take 4th spot doing 1071.

Langholm H.C. 1/8

It’s an easy win here for D Nordon he takes this one on a velocity of 1155. This bird was also 3rd Open Federation. 

Dumfries F.C. 9/60

It’s a good win here also for W Swan recording a velocity of 1117, followed by Mr & Mrs Karl Gunther and Grandson taking 2nd and 3rd on 1113 and 1106. Jim Seaton times in to take 4th doing 1103.  

Nith Valley F.C. 11/75

The best bird in the race was timed in this Club by W J Smith doing 1196. Mrs Linda Hay takes 2nd on 1089 and Skachill & McCormack are 3rd recording 1042.
