West Cheshire Federation (South Road) Presentation 2015
Friday 20th November 2015 saw the combined Hooton HS and West Cheshire Federation presentation evening. Hooton HS being one of the best organised flying clubs in the locality with a huge array of club trophies along with the federation trophies meant the trophy table was a sight to behold which unfortunately is a rare a sight these days. Congratulations to the Hooton HS for arranging such a display and presentation along with our federation hierarchy for an enjoyable evening with great company.
Host, Compare and Special Guest.
The host and compare for the evening was John Waters, RPRA Western Region and North Wirral Federation Secretary. John is a person who not only has to try a juggle his time between his hobby of racing pigeons and his work but also dedicates his copious spare time at home dealing with his local federation business as well as the not so local Western Regions business which will also encompass national RPRA business. Special thanks are extended to John for giving his valuable time to the presentation.
Special guest for the evening was Jenny Dodd. Jenny along with her husband Ronnie is the figure head of the West Cheshire Federation, Jenny being the honourable secretary and Ronnie being the Federation President. Ronnie and Jenny have been involved organising as well as competing within pigeon racing in the locality for quite some years and it is a testament to their high standing within the sport that Jenny was invited to present both the Hooton HS prizes along with West Cheshire federation prizes.
A Special thank you also to Jenny and Ronnie Dodd for all the hard work that has been put in this year operating the federation and allowing the local fancy to thrive and prosper again this season.
The presentation got underway with the Hooton HS prize presentation. The West Cheshire Federation prize presentation got under way with the individual prize federation winners presentation followed by the thank you bouquets to the well-deserved recipients. The highlight of the evening being the presentation of the federation championship to Stephen Williams, Bromborough. Steve who also puts a shift in for the federation as the federation race controller broke all the records this season and winning the championship with a huge 111 points probably the first occasion that a fancier has broken through the magic 100 points. A brilliant achievement by an all-round top fancier and hardworking federation official.

Steve Williams wins four first federation prizes, six second’s, eight thirds, and seven fourth federation prizes. Paul is this year’s runner up in the federation championship (for what I believe is the third year running) Paul has had yet another consistent season winning the federation on three separate occasions, also collecting four second’s, one third and two fourth prizes, Paul accumulated some fifty one points that in previous years would see him winning the championship, he will no doubt be bang there again in 2016 and sets a bench mark to aim at.

Roy and Robbie Sandland (Rock Station and Willaston HS) consistently finish in the top echelon of the federation championship and finishing third in this season’s championship the partnership topped the federation twice including the blue ribbon Messac race, took two second prizes, two third prizes and one fourth prizes completing another successful year.
