Lanarkshire Social Circle - Presentation Night 14th October 2022
Members and friends attended the Avonbridge Hotel in Hamilton to celebrate this year’s winners and enjoy a great night of entertainment and pigeon talk with old and new friends.
The hall was full and its always great to see new faces enjoying the social side of the sport and being very much welcomed into the "Circle "
This year’s guest were Billy Billsland of Ayton and Lanarkshire Federation President John Lawrie, thanks to both very well respected fanciers who have a life time of experience of in the pigeon fancy.
John is a great friend of Andy Eadie (This year’s principle winner) This was very fitting that he presented his friend with the prestigious Gold Cup.
Andy Eadie (R) with LSC Gold Cup
John described Andy as a pigeon fanatic and is always in and around his pigeons and is riding the crest of the wave the last two seasons.
Billy Billsland presented GWP Macaloney with their trophies and described them as the best loft in the UK. Big accolade from someone who has won 14 Scottish Nationals himself.
Paul Macaloney (R) The prolific partnership of GWP Macaloney with Billy Billsland
Thanks to both for their time and kind words about the club and its winning members.
After a lovely meal and presentation the hall was entertained by guest speaker Bill Copeland esq with his comical antidotes on life. Excellent turn!
The competition in the LSC is possible the best in the country and is very difficult to win with such top fanciers competing and big birdage .
The LSC GOLD CUP- This cup is the" Holy Grail" of cups and is very difficult to win., many have tried and failed as isn't always won due to the difficulty of the race programme. As we all know the distance races are getting more and more challenging to achieve with most being very difficult affairs. Andy had a brilliant season with his birds in fine form and complete the task that many have tried and failed.
