Lanarkshire News- Carnforth Race
This week takes us to a come back race from Carnforth around the 130 miles back into lower Central Scotland, the race can only be described as a very tough affair, more like a 500 mile race for birds that have been racing the full programme.
The wind was in the North west but shouldn't have had that effect on their inability to home with any regularity.
This week’s winner is Lewis McCalley who has been having a fantastic season winning in his club and federation .
His winner is a very special blue hen that already has won 1st federation ,2nd federation and 16th federation and only a yearling. She was bred by the Woodroffe partnership from Sunderland. Lewis is very friendly with the partnership who he rates the best in the country.
He has had countless winners through these birds and is easily one of the best performance lofts in Lanarkshire, only flying a small team of pigeons. As stated before he has won more 1st federations than any other loft since coming into Lanarkshire other than GWP Macaloney and McCrindles.
Lewis doesn't fly any particular system and this hen only got the partner before going to the race. He seems to get the best out of individual motivation.
Well done Lewis and hopefully he can continue his great season.
Not too sure how the federation is going to finish this season on this racing!
