Lanarkshire News - Annan Race
This week we were programmed to go to Cheltenham (270 miles) but ended up going to Annan (66 miles) due to the poor weather forecast.
The 700 federation birds and five other crates from others were away at 08 15 hrs in a light south east wind.
The winners started hitting the boards of J Green & Son 09 26 hrs for the 62 miles recording a velocity of 1532 ypm.
Father and son partnership of James and Gary Green had a fabulous race taking 1st ,2nd,4th sect,1st ,2nd,6th Open federation.

The partnership are never far away to success and sit high in the average board most years.
They got two pigeons together the winner out of double federation winner ,their number 1 stock hen, who has been an outstanding breeder for them.
The winner was raced on the widowhood and sent to the race with two hens in his box.
Their 2nd Open federation winner is bred by Justin Rodgers from his Vanden Bulks . He was 4th sect,12th federation Woolaston two weeks ago. He was raced covering 14 day old eggs.
Well done to James and Gary on a cracking performance ,setting them up for the rest of the season.

Overall the reports of excellent returns and most birds home within the hour was good for us moving onto the first Open race of the season from Yeovil.
