Lanarkshire Fed Hexham Race.

 

We arrive at Hexham a market town in Northumberland ,England around 95 miles back into Central Scotland. The convoy of  3,400 birds plus 12 Fauldhoue club baskets were liberated in a lt South East wind at 09 30 am.

 The winners of 1st Open  hit the board at 11 31 hrs for a velocity of 1387 to the loft of Danny Mitchell & Son of Clarkston club in the centre section. This was an excellent performance as he also recorded 2nd Open. The winner is a blue cock which was bred by Cowan & Findlay of Ayrshire. This was an exchange pigeon and its being flying steady along with another the same way bred. His 2nd Open a home bred pied that contains all the distance lines.Well done Danny on a top performance!

 The race was a real mixed bag with some having good returns and others reporting quite a few missing.When there is east in the wind it doesn't tend to favour good young bird racing! Around the clubs
