Blackpool For Me 2019
Blackpool is what you make it! For pigeon fanciers it’s a great event, the very best of weekends.
Again the BHW staff and committee should be thanked for promoting our great sport!
When speaking to the locals they always look forward to the pigeon weekend, it generates business for their local economy.
For most fanciers, it gets them through the long dark month of January.
It always great to meet up with old and new friends, enjoying a chat or sometimes a "wee blether" depending on what time of the day it is.

The price of pigeons mostly outwith the winter gardens baffles me and in my opinion will be a nail in the coffin for the long term survival of the show. As the saying goes many a fool and their money are easily parted.
We go down with the best of intentions not to buy but always go back up the road with something from the show.

For most it’s a social gathering with a few wanders around the winter gardens and enjoy the greatest pigeon show on the planet.
It’s always worth a look at the new innovation Enjoying looking at the many stalls that provide the fancier with everything you can ever need, whatever attracts fanciers most return year after year. So the present recipe can’t be bad!

Federation member Jim Hughes had a great Blackpool show, winning a class with his House of Aarden chw/f and also his pencil Hartog, which was up on the winners parade.
When speaking with Jim he was very pleased with his performance. He hopes to race more this year, although this is depending on his work commitments.
