Melton Mowbray
This week takes us to Melton Mowbray for our yearling derby
Melton Mowbray is a town in England, 19 miles (31 km) northeast of Leicester and 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Nottingham. The town is on the River Eye and the River Wreake population of 25,554.
The town is best known for its culinary speciality, the Melton Mowbray pork pie.
The 4,100 pigeons and 500 Ayrshire federation pigeons made up this weeks convoy and were away at 7 15 in a light North East wind. The birds must have found some tail wind conditions as the winners were up in the 1400s form the 250 mile flight.
Again the birds were well scattered with a few losses reported.
This weeks winners are the Brilliant loft of Lanarkshire's all time greats GWP Macaloney, their results have been "OUTSTANDING"
If there was an Olympic team for pigeon fanciers they would win record gold medals.
This weeks winner is bred out of a Vanderabeele/Dream Pair cross, the grandfather of the winner also won this yearling derby.
