Dave McCaig (R) new Preseident of the Lanarkshire Federation with Tom Corrie Jnr, new Junior Vice President
Special note to the Lauriston HS & Quiz night and Lauriston members and friends, we enjoyed their company at their presentation night. I was in the company of Ian Lindsay and Tom snr.Jim.We presented the trophies, enjoyed a cracking buffet and thereafter answered questions from the floor on how we started and our general management of our pigeons including racing system, feeding ,medication ,vaccination and the dreaded YBS, which I felt I got some cracking information from the members present. We even won a raffle prize each which cant be bad.It was good to see other members of Lanarkshire present, Jim Wilkinson ,Jimmy Ross and Eddie Porter who obviously have found this golden nugget of a night and return each year.Jim Jack and Alistair McNaughton are doing a great job for the lads and the night was enjoyed by all.Special note to Ian Lindsay who was on cracking form with his antidotes on life as a pigeon fancier.Ian I don't think they got that joke, ha ha or maybe not ha ha.
Life as a press officer can be very busy at this time of year, well its always busy It takes up a lot of time and work but these nights are so rewarding.

£50 to Buyer and £50 to Breeder .
The runner-up prize was not claimed and the remaining £50 has been donated to St. Andrews Hospice .
The winning bird was a cross between David Gore , South Wales and John Duthie, Dundee.
It flew every race in the New Stevenston Club and had a 2nd , 2 x 3rds, 4th, 5th and 9th. A remarkable performance.
This was sent to me by Ian Lindsay of Lindsay & Henderson of Newmains FC , Lanarkshire federation.
Hope you agree its a cracking wee song its was great to hear Ian sing this in the old Scottish folk song tune at one of the recent presentation nights .
Wee Doo
Chorus:
Oh I’m a doo, a nice wee doo, a bonnie we blue chequer pied.
I was born in the month of April, in the year of ninety five.
My father was a mealy cock, my dam a dark pied hen.
He said when he put the ring on me I think you’ll win fae Rennes
When I was only ten weeks old, he took me for a toss!
He told me I had to fly straight home, quite fast cos he’s the boss.
I flew the young bird programme and I really did quite well,
I won two cards and a bit of dosh,so he was glad as well.
Chorus:
The following year he paired me up tae a monster oh a doo,
We reared twa bonnie youngsters, a mealy and a blue.
I was sent tae the yearling derby which was flown fae Cheltenham,
He pooled me tae the limit at good odds to twelve to wan.
Chorus:
I flew hame like a rocket and I won the race by far,
He won himself a right few quid, so he bought a motor car.
He put me by for the following year, cos I was his best pal,
Id win for him a fortune in the Scottish National.
Chorus:
At last it came The Big One of five hundred miles or more,
It really was a trying test of thirty miles an hour.
My heart was nearly burst in and the light was nearly gone,
As I landed on the trap, he cried Ma Bonnie Wee Lass Yev Won.
Cos you’re a doo a nice wee do, a bonnie wee blue chequer pied,
You were born in the month of April in the year of ninety five.
Your father was a mealy cock, your dam a dark pied hen,
I knew when I put the ring on you,
That you would win from Rennes.
