Newmains Flying Club Presentation Night
Lanarkshire Federation
Newmains FC had their annual social and presentation night in the excellent Cambusnethan Miners Welfare club. The members turned out in numbers to support this years winners.
This years guest were federation President John Quinn and his wife Debbie and myself and my wife Pauline. We were made very welcome by club President Aldo Thompson, Secretary Andy Frame and the Wendy Whiteford who others will not mind me saying is a gem. They all worked their socks of to organise a great night of celebration and entertainment.
After a lovely three course meal this year winners were introduced to the hall.

Newmains is very much the foundation of the federation and always puts itself out to benefit the federation.
Like most years it dominated the East section of the federation with top loft being Eadie & Kelly, dominating the club prizes and like the saying its hard to get to the top and even harder to stay their. Well Andy Eadie has got the tea shirt and is easily one of the best ever fanciers to fly a pigeon into Lanarkshire.
Their are new kids on the block in the club Kevin Miller, Barry Mannugh and Tony McGinn and they reside in the village of Cleland famous for Scottish International striker Joe Jordan, the toothless terror of the seventies. These guys are starting to show consistency that can challenge for the average trophies in the future.

Rodger Menzies In the company of (L to R)
Eddie Callaghan, Ian Lindsay & Robert Simpson
I had the good fortune to talk with Eddie Callaghan when we were invited into his company. Eddie is one of the greatest winners of the SNFC Rennes race with the immortal check cock" Fallahill Superstar" who arguable was one of the best winners of the Gold Cup race. It was great to talk about such a brilliant pigeon. Eddie continues to enjoy racing the pigeons in Fauldhouse club and has been asked this year to judge at BHW Blackpool show 2016.
Thanks to all who made our night a special one.
