Coatbridge FC Presentation Night ,Lanarkshire Federation

 

Myself and my wife Pauline attended the Gartsherrie Bowling Club to celebrate the clubs winners for 2015.

We were warmly welcomed by Jim Durning on our arrival and quickly introduced to members and friends for a great night in a smashing venue.

President John Sharp and Secretary Wullie Cummings have maintained this great clubs tradition of providing its members with a presentation night with all the trimmings of a sit down meal and, live entertainment.

The club has always put up some excellent performances in the Lanarkshire Federation over the years and after talking to the members I feel their enthusiasm is very much there to continue in the future.

I enjoyed presenting this year’s winners and spending the time talking to a few of the lads throughout the night.

 

The top performance loft this year was Jackie Pollock winning the Combine averages his loft is in Newarthill .three miles south of Coatbridge.

He races the Louella Braspenings which he went down and picked himself (ex stock pigeons) for 35 each and his old family of distance Harrison lines

Jackie races an average 15 birds per week into a very small back garden set up. Well done Jackie.

 

Sharp Cummings & Durning partnership had a excellent season winning the first five club races on their way to winning the Yearling Derby in the Federation with their pigeon "True Blue".

Ralph Valentini had a topping young bird programme, winning the federation in the last Otterburn race.
