Coalburn HC Presentation Night, South Lanarkshire Federation

 

This year’s presentation was in the Holandbush Golf Club just outside the village of Coalburn. It was a fine setting for this event and with the hall full to capacity, a good night was on the cards. My wife and I travelled down the M74 in very drech Scottish weather, to help present the trophies. These nights take some organising and congratulations to club Secretary Hazel Harrison and members for a excellent night, and with new President Andrew Suckle providing leadership everything was in its place. I can honestly say that I have never been at a better night. The atmosphere was great, the dance floor was never empty and everyone enjoyed their night. John Quinn (Lanarkshire President) also attended as guest and stated he would be putting this night on his calendar. The club should congratulate themselves on their very friendly club that only makes you feel empowered to achieve the same in your own club presentation nights. It reminded me of my own club nights all those years ago back in the 80s.
