LANARKSHIRE FEDERATION
Tom Corrie
Well, can anyone tell me a season where the east wind has lasted the first six races? This makes it difficult to gauge your racing team as it plays havoc with the birds' homing ability. We have had the east wind being very cold and very hot. We sometimes don't appreciate what our feathered friends go through to battle back for us, so those who return under these conditions possibly deserve their perch.
We are just over 200 miles and club members have stopped racing. This isn't a good sign for the club or sport, but is a reflection of today's racing. With the National racing just round the corner, the difficult racing will have an impact on the birdage and also on the Federation Open races. Let's hope the wind changes.
