Lanark & District Presentation Night
This week's report takes me to the Royal Burgh of Lanark to attend the Lanark & District presentation night, which took place in Carstairs community hall. The club has twenty eight members in a boundary that takes in most of the smaller villages around the Burgh. The club has its fair share of top fanciers, especially concentrating in the National distance races.
The evening was a credit to the club Secretary, Stuart & Lynn Megahy, who worked together perfectly - like two professional dancers in harmony - with timing to allow everyone to relax and the night to flow. The whole family contributed to make the night a great success!! No wonder the Federation has poached their services for Secretary 2012 - Two for the price of one!!
Special mention to the staff within the Village hall for a cracking meal! Everything worked out perfectly and I felt this was down to great timing by the staff and the club officials. It is not often you get a cheese board and selection of chocolates with your tea/coffee served up in real china cups!!
Thanks to President Dave Elliot, who took the time to welcome myself and my father.

This was followed by a very successful auction of 2012 young birds and raffles. Then plenty of time to talk pigeons. We would like to thank all the members for the invite. We really enjoyed your company and had a night to remember. On a special note, the members presented Mr & Mrs Elliot with a crystal decanter and glasses to recognise the partnership winning this year's Scottish National Flying Club Blue Riband race from Messac.
