Newmains Presentation 08-11-17

Newmains Club,Presentation Night,

Lanarkshire Federation,Scotland - 3rd November 2017

In the history of racing pigeons into Lanarkshire federation, Newmains club must be up there with the best!

The club members and friends got together in their Newmains pigeon social club to honour this years winners.

I attended as a guest of club President Ian Lindsay for a wee social in the heart of Lanarkshire federation.
Newmains really is the heart of pigeon racing in this neck of the woods. It has been a centre point for federation and National marking for many a year.
There isn't many clubs that can boast such a set up in the pigeon game.It is a credit to its members.
With an excellent social club and great prices at the bar, I am sure it is the place to go for the locals- pigeon fanciers or not.

The night started with everyone tucking into a lovely fish supper or what they prefer from the local Fish/Chip shop. This hit the spot and set us up for the presentation,

star turn (Live music from top female artist). Between her interval we had a raffle and Bingo.

With all great clubs they need individuals who go over and above the cause for their members. Firstly, I would like to mention Wendy Orr (Partnership J Whiteford and family) who truly is a gem. Wendy is a tireless worker for the club, their "diamond in the pack", always there to organise the social events, fine food and entertainment to make it flow smoothly. Wendy's family all muck in and support the club. All members and friends would like to thank them for their devotion to the club.

Club secretary Andy Frame takes some beating as a secretary, managing one of the biggest clubs in the land, he is a very well respected guy who shows great commitment to the club. Well done Andy.

President Ian Lindsay always makes everyone feel welcome and is another member who works tirelessly keeping his club to the forefront of everything pigeons.
Newmains sits in the east section of the federation and its members are always challenging for top section prizes and Open honours. This club is very competitive and you have to be at the top of your game to be in the top ten each week. They often take every section prize available in the federation.

The club also runs a cracking Open shows on Monday nights between the months of November and December- always worth a wee night out.

This years top loft is the "Bonkle Mavrick" Tam Richardson who had a brilliant season winning top honours at club and finishing second in the federation Champions trophy. Tam is a great supporter of his club and federation and raced the full programme with his team of "all rounders", winning from all distances.
Tam wins eleven trophies, including the combine averages, young bird averages and 7 x 1st club. Top racing Tam!
