Description
This Bereavement Sale has been brought about by the death of Ken Lycett on the 24th March. Since that sad passing we have raced the birds to the best of our abilities based on the time we have, and now the time has come for us to release the birds. No birds have been sold before this sale despite repeated requests. Two birds were given to us as gifts and they’ve been returned to their owner, to honour the promise that we made. Our successes over the years have been numerous, and for a little back garden loft we’ve repeatedly punched above our weight. We were Champions of the Worcester Fed when it was 47 clubs strong sending over 9,000 birds a week. We have won numerous RPRA Region Awards and 2 x 1st West Midlands Region Sprint Champion (One of these “CHAMPION EDDY”) is included in the sale.
This year we targeted the 2 North Midlands Races from Carentan and Fougeres. From Carentan we were 2nd, 5th and 6th Open and our 3 birds beat our Federation winners velocity who were at Carentan the same day. From Fougeres we were 3rd, 18th and 32nd Open and our first 5 birds home all recorded a faster velocity than our Federation winner who was there the same day also.
This hen is the only one bred this way on the garden
When we got “THE LUCKY HEN” in 2016 she was very very late and we only managed to get one pair of eggs from her in the summer of 2017. One hatched and this is her. She’s one of the best hens on the garden this hen

“SUPER FRANK”. 05P33181 (In Gallery)
We bred this cock in 2005 and sold him in 2007. He returned to us in the winter of 2016. Between 2007 and 2016 he bred 18 x 1st prize-winners for Davis Wright and sons of Swadlincote.
Before being sold as a 2 year old he’d already won himself the following for us
9th Open MCC Portland
1st Portland
1st wincanton
1st Newbury
21st Wincanton 4855 birds
For Gaby fans his breeding is SPECTACULAR
He’s a DIRECT SON of “MOURINHO” x our All time no.1 hen “PALE RIDER”
“MOURINHO”
DIRECT SON of the incredible “JESTER” x CARRIE”. He himself won 29th Open MNFC against a huge 12,921 birds. Being DIRECT from the incredible “JESTER” x “CARRIE” means he’s very closely related to all sorts of winners right up to and including National level etc.
“PALE RIDER”.
Quite simply the best breeding hen we ever had at our lofts. Her bloodlines are still winning throughout the UK on a week in week out basis.
"PALE RIDER" is the Dam of
"BOBBY DAZZLER"
“BOBBY DAZZLER”. Bred & Raced by us.
Direct “GARETH GATES” x “PALE RIDER”.
In 2007 we sold her as a yearling for £4600.00
As a youngster in 2006 she was the winner of 4 x 1st and 2 x 2nds. She won 1st Section 1st Open North Midlands Continental Yelverton. She won the race by a clear 9 minutes and 59 seconds (53 yards per minute) and recorded the fastest velocity that day out of Yelverton (7 liberations – over 5,000 birds). In addition to that effort she also put up 2 x superb efforts in the MCC.
In the MCC Portland race she competed in a very tough NW wind and won the race back into our home town by a clear 5 minutes. She finished 30th Section 43rd Open (1,140 birds) and everything that beat her was flying short of her. She also competed in the MCC Yelverton race which was a very fast affair (over 2000 ypm). In this race she finished 117th Section 165th Open (1,816 birds). On the face of it, that looks a half-hearted effort, but that doesn’t tell the story or do her justice. She arrived with a loft-mate and just as they approached the loft a local fancier a few doors away let his pigeons out for exercise (he was not racing that day). We lost a full 6 minutes trying to get these two hens to pull back out of the kit. We estimate that she would have finished in the top 10 Open!
“MEGS” - She's responsible for at least 80 x 1st prize-winners
we still receive reports each and every week of this blood winning throughout the UK
