Saturday May 7th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Marlborough. The pigeons were liberated at 10:20 in a light north wind.

In Holbrook 14 members sent 336 birds with the red card going to Trevor Jennings doing 1327 with his next pigeon doing 1293 to take fourth both yearlings.

In Etwall & District Flying Club 8 members sent 140 birds with A.Peach & Son get the winner with a 2-year-old b/w/f hen doing 1302.

Taking the next three positions was Kevin Southall with three two year old cocks doing 1255,1244 & 1233.

In Osmaston Park Homing Society 9 members sent 122 birds with Brian Dyjas taking top spot with a 3 year old dk/cheq cock doing 1291.

Taking the next three positions was Johnson Family with two yearling cheq cocks doing 1266 & 1255 followed by a two year old mealy cock doing 1222.

In Kilburn club 3 members sent 54 birds with The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation who were at Salisbury. The pigeons were liberated at 10:45 in a light north wind. Taking the top two positions was Keith Foulke. His winner was a yearling cheq hen doing 1189 this pigeon winning for the second week in succession. His next pigeon was a yearling cheq cock doing 1175 to take second.

In third was Ralph Parkin with a four year old blue cock doing 1137 followed by Stewart Wainwright in fourth with a two year old cheq hen doing 1085.

Saturday May 14th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Salisbury and our convoyer got the pigeons away at 08:35 in a light south west wind. Etwall & District Flying Club had eight members sending 140 birds and it was a clean sweep for Kevin Southall who took all the first four positions. Kevin’s winner was a blue cock doing 1623 followed by a mealy cock doing 1614 then a blue pied hen doing 1584 with a blue hen doing 1548 all Kevin's birds were two year olds.

In Holbrook club 13 members sent 260 birds with Kevin Mathews having a good day taking the top two positions doing 1602 & 1595.  Both Kevin’s pigeons were yearling blue cocks.

In third was last week's winner Trevor Jennings doing 1590 with a four year old cheq hen followed by D & A Swift & Son in fourth doing 1561 with a grandson of Blue Leo.

In Osmaston Park Homing Society 10 members sent 120 birds with Brian Dyjas making it back to back wins with a three year old dk/cheq cock doing 1576 taking the red card. Brian’s winner was not raced as a youngster or yearling with the sire being purchased from Kevin Spears and the dam from Dave Atkins.

In second with a yearling cheq cock doing 1532 was S & H W Hall followed by Shenton Brothers in third with a yearling cheq cock doing 1523. In fourth with a two year old cheq cock doing 1522 was Johnson Family.

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Blandford and the pigeons were liberated at 09:00 in a light south west wind.

In Kilburn club 2 members sent 31 birds with Stewart Wainwright taking three of the first four positions. His winner was a two year old dk/cheq hen doing 1487 followed by a two year old b/cheq cock doing 1417 then a four year old blue hen doing 1356.

In Holbrook 13 members sent 248 birds with Kevin Mathews making it back to back wins with a two year old Jos Sootjen widowhood cock doing 1640.

In second & third was Russ Bailey with a two year old hen doing 1639 followed by a yearling Delbar cock doing 1637.

In fourth was B & S Stone with a yearling doing 1636.

Osmaston Park Homing Society 8 members sent 104 birds and taking the top two positions was S & H W Hall. Taking the red card was a two year old blue hen followed by a yearling cheq hen both doing 1637.4.

In Etwall & District Flying Club 7 members sent 113 birds with Kevin Southall getting back to back wins with a two year old b/pied hen doing 1599 taking the red card followed by a two year old dk/pied cock doing 1586 to take third.

In second & fourth were P & S Harrison ( Peter & Shirley ) with their first pigeon a yearling cheq cock doing 1592 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1577.

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Weymouth and the pigeons were liberated at 08-45 in a light south west wind.

In Kilburn club 3 members sent 48 birds with Keith Foulke taking the top two positions. Keith’s winner was a two year old dark cock doing 1636 followed by a five year old blue cock doing 1624.

In third was Stewart Wainwright with a three year old dark hen ( last week’s winner ) doing 1509 followed by Parkin & Hall in fourth with a two year old blue cock doing 1449.

Saturday May 28th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Weymouth with the pigeons being liberated at 08:15 in a light north wind.

In Holbrook 13 members sent 232 birds and taking the first two positions was Trevor Jennings doing 1320 & 1319.

In third doing 1310 was Mick Fearn followed by last week’s winner Kevin Mathews doing 1305 taking fourth.

In Osmaston Park Homing Society 9 members sent 110 birds with Shenton Brothers (Ron & Norman) taking the red card with a yearling blue cock doing 1284 followed by Johnson Family in second & third with a yearling blue cock doing 1264 and a cheq cock doing 1259.
