Lanarkshire Federation - Melton Mowbray 28/5/22
This week takes us down into the Leicestershire area of England for around 250 mile race back into lower Central Scotland. The wind had turned into the North so for the first time this season the pigeons would need to fight for every yard back up the road. The 2,542 birds were away at 07:30 in a light North wind in excellent conditions.
The winners took around 5 hrs 42 minutes for a velocity of 1280
This weeks winner are the very consistent James Green & Son from Burnbank club, Hamilton. Father and son partnership are up with the top lofts in the federation over the years. They have been recording top team performances and this week was the icing on the cake winning 1st West section,1st Open federation 2,542 birds.

Their winner is a 3yr old Herman Ceauster blue hen-from Premier Stud lines. Her dam produced many good pigeons for them.
This weeks winning hen has already won 10th sect 1255 birds,5th sect ,2189 birds & 29th sect,126th Open Worksop yearling derby. Well done James & Gary on a top performance.
The pigeons were well strung out to my loft with a significant gap between first and second bird. At clocks, most fanciers were awaiting birds This was getting reported by all federations racing flying that day...

Andy Eadie reported on Cambusnethan winner Donnie Brooks who wins 1st & 2nd Club with two cocks on widowhood, starting with twenty and down to sixteen. The first bird a 2 yr old check c bred from a Descheemaeker Janssen cock paired to a hen given to him by Barry Kinnear. His second bird a yearling Blue Cock again from a Descheemaeker cock paired to a Blue Hen gifted by Jim Cullen.

Tommy Battersby reported that George Truesdale had won 1st & 3rd club with a Shipton Brothers pigeon.2nd club was the consistent Hugh Kidd & Son

Tom Corrie Son G/son win Clarkston with a Silver hen that was 2nd Open Yearling Derby 2021 also being 3rd Open 4,800 birds. She is bred of Peters Choice who won 1st Open federation 2021 for the partnership. Bred by my uncle Peter Anderson out his Archie Price Vanderabeele stock.
