Lanarkshire Federation - Wooler 3 Race

This week the weather was rather tricky with frequent showers predicted throughout the weekend.  A window of opportunity was available and the 2,766 birds and 15 other crates were away at 0900hrs in a light SSE wind.

The winners covered the 69 miles in 1hr 25 m for a velocity of 1445.The winners are the partnership of Barclay McCrindle & Son who fly on the east side of the federation. They had a fabulous race taking 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,10th,11th,55th,56th,57th,58th,61st 69th,Open federation from 2766 birds.

This week’s winners six in drop, first two over pad on exactly the same velocity are 485 from a direct son of New Harry x Dtr of Propere Rik. The SHU rung pigeon is out of a direct son of Vester (Top breeder for Chris Debacker) x winning daughter of my good Geerinkx cpl She won 1st,3rd,10th Open federation in one year. 

Barclay topped the federation in the first week and was third Open last week .His winner of 1st Open in the opening race was a Marina Van De Velde  x  Van Bauwel The other were Frans Zwols from Willie Donnachie and one from John Short.

They are brilliant with the youngsters and are masters of their trade. They obviously have a great system that gives the multiple drops at the top of the federation. 

The white flags are going up all across the federation with these results lads!.

The birds appeared to have the best flight of the season so far with excellent returns for those that have been racing from start of season.

Club News

Jim Durning sent in the Coatbridge SC result, Jim Forsyth wins on 1419(That's his second of the YB season and 2 x 2nd sections) going well Nip!  Sharp Cummings Durning were  2nd on 1400.Jim also included some photos of club members for inclusion. Thanks Jim.

Andy Eadie provided update on Cambusnethan/Morningside club. 1st club Eadie & Kelly last two weeks racing .Our latest winner has been a very consistent racer over the last three weeks .Raced on eggs and chasing another hen. He reminds me of John Lawrie when he was a lad. The winner is bred down from Kanon Man x Rossi Lass (Which is a half-brother to Double Vision 1st Open SNFC )  X Double Grandson of Spider Man ,who is responsible for over 300 x 1st winners including 1st Open BICC and Double Vision which are super Herman Custers x Danny Van crossed with the famous Pitbull. They will be a force to reckon with in the years to come in the Lanarkshire Fed. This young cock has been 7th sect,8th Open 2760 birds, and 21st sect ,38th Open and along with his siblings I believe is one for the future. Yours in Sport Eadie & Kelly.

Well done to Andy on a brilliant season winning at the top level of Scottish racing and winning the magical Lanarkshire Social Circle Gold Cup.

Tom Corrie wins Clarkston with another bred out of Peter Anderson stock which is Mr & Mrs Archie Price of Chester, Vandenabeele stock.

No other information of club winners was received from any clubs or members. 

This present programme doesn't seem to be supported by the Lanarkshire members(possible the lowest birdage on record for a third YB race) although the racing has been excellent to date and this is why it was promoted in the first place. This isn't to say that the later start wouldn't have been similar. Food for thought for next year’s AGM proposals.
