Warwickshire & District Federation

Another week has passed and another great Race for the Warwickshire Fed, the members had the option of 2 races on Saturday 3-6-23 we had a race from Wakefield and an amalgamation race from Hexham with the New North Road Amalgamation. I will cover the Wakefield race and I’m sure my good friend the rat man will cover the Hexham race and well done to the Warwickshire members that had a go in the Hexham race and the 2 bird which got liberated 15 minutes after the main race looking at the times the fed members did well in the first ever Amal race for the fed well done.

Wakefield (4121) race flown on 03 June 2023 50 members sent 689 birds Liberated at 09:30 hours in a brisk northeast wind.

Nuneaton Progressive RPC – Another cracking race for Mick Perkins a really nice guy takes the first 3 spots his 1st bird is a yearling mealy cock Demeyer off kinahan and turner x Simon snook x Gert heylen blood doing 1703 in 2nd place a yearling blue hen Simon Snook x Alfie Hawthorne x Adam Weathall blood doing 1701 and 3rd a yearling cheq hen De Meyer Gert Heylen x Ian Wheatley Lambrecht blood doing 1700.

Shipston On Stour IFC – 1st place is G C Barrett with a yearling hen flown on natural being a Jos Thorne doing 1344 2nd & 3rd go to N Hunt both yearling Hereman Ceusters from Colin Dixon and Frank Tasker both hens flown natural doing 1290 & 1253.

Trent Valley HS – 1st & 2nd places go to John Gilbert 1st is a 3yr old blue hen doing 1628 the second bird a yearling cheq hen doing 1610 both these hens flown on roundabout and being from john’s own collection of Vandenabeele bird’s 3rd place goes to Wilson & Malin clocking a 4yr old hen doing 1517.

Appleby Magna HS – 1st place Ion Pirvu on 1618 with a 3yr old blue cock ion has brought birds in from one loft races around the world and is cultivating his own family he races on natural and in his own words he feeds as much as the bird wants 2nd is Mr & Mrs Passey on 1528 with a 2yr old red widowhood hen from is Geoff Kirkland Flor Engels x Geoff’s distance family 3rd place goes to Lyndon Rowland with a 2yr old cheq hen who was bred as a late bred in 21 from Clive yates x Rob Horton Lambrecht flown natural doing 1478.

Southam & District IFC – Keith Arnold tales 1st & 2nd with 2 SVR arriving together his first was a 2yr old blue hen racing to the young bird loft the second being a 3yr old blue widowhood cock 1674 & 1672 3rd place was Meitek Kwasny with a 3yr old blue cock flown on the natural system from his Braspenning x Koopman stock doing 1435.

East Leake FC - 1st & 2nd place go to Joao Ribeiro with 2 yearling hens sitting eggs with extra eggs being added leading up to basketing to make them keener doing 1646 & 1645 in 3rd place my old friend K walker or better known as Jack doing 1620 with a yearling celibate hen a DVDB dong 1620.

Church Road FC – 1st and 2nd go to Dave Woods first a yearling blue hen doing 1581 and 2nd a 3yr old blue cock doing 1580 3rd place is Neil Roberts with a yearling blue cock doing 1552.

Syston & District FC – 1st Place goes to Mr & Mrs R Elton with a 2yr old cock flown on widowhood doing 1636 well done Roger 2nd place Mick Thorpe with his old faithful 5yr old grizzle cock flown on widowhood doing 1635 3rd place David Cooper with a 2yr old widowhood cock 1629.

Dunchurch RPC -  All 3 top spots go to Tim Atkin his first bird now has 2 x 2nd and a 5th fed cock is a son of Charlene x daughter of war drum was doing 1690 in 2nd place doing 1689 from a son of war drum x daughter of Rachel from Alfie Hawthorne 3rd place on 1688 a hen a daughter from vardy (granger x foxy lady) x daughter of friendship who has also been 2nd fed this season.

Adderbury FC – 1st place is John Hambridge doing 1603 with a 2yr old mealy cock hi sown strain 2nd place Richard McNally with a yearling widowhood cock a blue vandenabeele 3rd spot is again John Hambridge doing 1563 with a widowhood 5yr old blue cock again from his own strain of birds.
