Presentation Night was held at the club's headquarters, the Jolly Sailor in Newport. The evening was very well attended and all the members and their spouses and guests enjoyed a fabulous meal. Many thanks go to Chris, Carol and Sue and also the staff for their catering which comes highly recommended.

The guest of honour for the evening was Mike Kirby of Asselby, who is a top class fancier who has acheived what few others haven't done in this area, but would all like to do and that is win a National. He has also had numerous first United Kingdom acheivments in the Sun City Million dollar pigeon race.

We start off with the Highest prize winners which were W. Hagston & family, who won O.B. average the Channel Average and the Best peformance cup. Beevers & Fillingham won the Y.B. Average and the longest Y.B Cup. Steve Neale won the Kennedy cup for the best two bird average longest O.B race. John Purkis won the Hagston's challenge, where Winnie the Sec, donates his salary back to the club to be flown for at the fifth Y.B race. Pigeons carrying the first four club rings issued to each member being eligble for this prize. Other Prize winners included, John Pickering, Wardle and Hayward, Mike Shipley, Mr & Mrs Roy Brumby, Mr & Mrs Alan Holtby and G. Thackeray and daughter.

The club has a very friendly atmosphere with all members getting on well with each other and everyone helps out on basketing nights, clock setting and clock checking. Finally, the club members would like to thank Carol Shipley for all the free time she gives up to help the club run smoothly, the book keeping and accounts that she does are in-valuable and very much appreciated by all the members.
