
JOURNEY’S END – NIPA RACE REPORTS – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
‘PERFECT SAGAN’ MAKES THE PERFECT WEEKEND FOR MARKEY
This week seen the NIPA go for their first mass liberation race this youngbird season from a further distance down the country. Race marking went ahead as scheduled for the trip to Benamore in Co. Tipperary. On Friday the 31st of July a total of 386 members of the Mighty NIPA sent a total of 10,882 birds to Benamore. On Saturday morning the 1st of August the NIPA liberated in Benamore at 09:00hrs in a light West wind.
The Winning Bird from the third Young Bird Race of the 2026 NIPA Season belongs to Owen Markey of Ballyholland HPS in Section G.
Owen Markey has yet again emulated his Open Wins in 2026 now winning the first race of the old bird season and now the first race of the youngbird season while also taking 1st Open from the last inland race of the old bird season just a few weeks ago. A flying record that is vastly increasing by the week winning another NIPA Open. The Benamore 1st Open winning pigeon has been named ‘Perfect Sagan’ and clocked the winning velocity of 1728.940YPM. GB26 B 30723 Sire "Pencil Sagan" is a grandson of "Kitsag" & "Strik" From Kevin & Kris Rooney. Dam "Perfect 17" bred from "86" x "O2 Hen" mother to "Natural Speed" & "Mustang Muscle" same way bred won 2nd Open NIPA 8,313 birds last weekend. 2nd Open is a child of "De Guss" x " Electric Dreams". 4th & 5th Open are both children of "Speedstar 203" x "Mambo Zot "

Also, congratulations to 13 year old Harry O’Hare on Winning 3rd Open NIPA this weekend from Benamore. Was also winner of 5th Open last week and 20th Open in his first week with a stack of other pigeons in the results, climbing the ladder of success fast showing the old boys how its done while also beating his grandad Cormac.

SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (65/1,656) from Benamore was Bingham & Seaton & Dowie of Ligoniel & District HPS. The successful Belfast racing partnership have continue their vein of form into this week winning their club (364 birds) and another Section win 3 from 3 so far while also winning 2nd Section C (1,656 birds) the two birds also are in the top 20 in the open finishing 19th & 20th NIPA Open (10,882 birds) GB26 X 29024 sire was 7th Penzance yearling national. Dam was 1st club Skibbereen and is from birds from Sheldon Leonard.

Taking the red card and a brace from Benamore was Carrick socials Geordie Robinson. No stranger to the EAA top spot Geordie takes 3 of the top 6. His winner on this occasion is an uncle to Hugh Biggers super pigeon “Atchie” open winner multiple section winner top national positions etc now residing in the US of A. Just goes to show the top bloodlines of that particular strain are producing the goods more weeks than not. Nice to see pigeons exchanged between club mates too.
