JOURNEY’S END – NIPA RACE REPORTS – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

‘MISTER BOMBAY’ BOMBS HOME FOR P&J BOAL

 In this week’s report I am covering the first double race day of the year and also the first NIPA National race of 2026. First up is the Benamore 3 Race in County Tipperary. A total of 470 NIPA Members sent 11,678 Birds to Benamore for the sixth race of the NIPA Old Bird Season. Saturday morning the 23rd of May the birds were liberated at 10:00hrs in a South Southwest Wind.

The Winning Bird from the sixth Old Bird Race of the 2026 NIPA Season belongs to P&J Boal of Dromore HPS in Section D.

P&J Boal is a name known to many and is no stranger to success racing in the NIPA. Topping the NIPA open from this week in Benamore has added another to his racing CV. The 1st Open winning pigeon has been named ‘Mister Bombay’ and clocked the winning velocity of 1959.088YPM. GB23 D 01290 is a blue cock raced on the chaos system. He is 100% Willy Van Herck and is a grandson of ‘Bijou’ 1st Open NIPA, 1st N/S INFC Skibbereen, 3x1st Section Winner. RPRA 0-250 Best bird all UK 28,000 members. NIPA Bird of the year. He is also a grandson of ‘Perfect Light’ 2x1st Open NIPA, 3x1st Section Winner, RPRA 0-250 best bird all UK. He is also a brother to 2x1st Section winner and is very pleased to have him. Philip also took the first 3 in the Open making his success even sweeter.

SECTION C REPORT

The Winner of Section C (54/1,319) from Benamore 3 was Davy McElhone & Dtr of West End HPS. The Father & Daughter partnership of Davy & Maddie strike winning first and second club (152 Birds) making it a second section C win so far this season winning 1st & 2nd Section (1,319 Birds) these two birds both were in the top 10 of the NIPA Open winning 5th & 7th Open from Benamore (11,678 Birds). Davy & Maddie are delighted with the way the birds performed taking the first two in the  section and also having 25 birds in the section result. And also, being 4th Section, 9th Open out of the old bird national. They would like to take the opportunity to thank Mr Wheatcroft for the parents of these birds and good luck to all for next week.
