GB 25 V 29731 BLUE COCK
Bred from two Vervoort Luc parents whose families meet in the pair that bred Elfje, 1st Ace Pigeon Quievrain Diamantverbond 2022
A 2025 blue cock bred from a pair of Belgian imports out of the loft of Vervoort Luc. His sire and dam are first cousins: the sire's father and the dam's mother are full siblings, both bred from "Ace One One" (B 20-6186011) and "Nicole" (B 19-6037823), the pair that produced "Elfje", 1st Ace Pigeon Quievrain Diamantverbond 2022. On the sire's side that is crossed with the racing hen "Schabbeke" of Lambrechts Cyriel & Carl, and on the dam's side with Leys Frans, Ceulemans Raymond and Silviu Glodeanu blood.
The Sire — B 23-6208774
Blue cock · Vervoort Luc × Lambrechts Cyriel
A cross of the two strongest racing lines on the card. His sire, B 23-6016008, is a son of Ace One One and Nicole, which makes him a full sibling of Elfje and of this cock's maternal grandmother. His dam is "Schabbeke" (B 21-6033137), a blue chequer hen from Lambrechts Cyriel & Carl with a race card of her own: 1st of 361, 20/555, 24/193, 30/140, 35/1,114, 37/1,043, 40/1,310, 95/1,400 and 99/1,193, and at RVB in 2022 71/378, 46/382, 88/800 and 99/764.
The Dam — B 23-6204984
Blue hen · pure Vervoort Luc
Her dam, B 23-6016007 (blue white-flight), is the second Ace One One × Nicole child in this pedigree, so the dam carries that pair at the same distance as the sire. Her sire, B 23-6016049 (blue chequer, Vervoort Luc × Glodeanu Silviu), brings the outside blood: he is a son of B 19-6037825, a Leys Frans × Ceulemans Raymond cock with 2/432, 9/277, 11/169, 13/310, 16/724, 18/105, 22/958, 23/176 and 81/1,296, and of "Halloween" (B 22-7711777), a mealy white-flight hen gifted by Silviu Glodeanu and cared for by Jan Hooymans in the Netherlands.
Foot note from Howard himself
In 2024 I was told I had stage 4 prostrate cancer which had gone to my bones, so I sold nearly all my race bird’s including stock. My last sale was due for Dec 2024 with 20 late breds and 4 stock birds. On my visit too Hull Hospital in Nov 2024 to see my consultant Doctor Patu, he informed me that he though my treatment was working because my P.S.I. was dropping from 940, and it is now undetectable, so I decided too give it another try racing, racing only 5 race bird in 2025 old birds on rubbers. They won or were first 4 in every old bird race, ending with 2nd GYA, 1200 odd bird’s.
I was invited to join a very strong club for young birds, and they flew really well winning a few races, in many arriving in bunches.
In 2026 old bird I was 2nd Fed ECT despite me going on a cruise for 2 wks. In young bird season: first Grantham 88ml 1st 2nd 3rd 4th, 1st Ebor Fed; Grantham (2) 1st club 1st Fed; Huntingdon 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th, first 4 in Fed; and in last race of season 1st club 1st Fed, Decoy Lakes.
Winning
3rd breeder buyer in GYA £400,
In the club 1st and 2nd breeder
buyer and £1,000.
So thats all bragging done, now onto birds.
Mostly ‘William De Bruije’ from syndicate loft, with a few Luc Vavort’s, all very nr the tree: Lawman, Blue Spider, Erin, Little China Girl, All the Aces, Yurri, Murphys Diamond, Red Rum, Sweet Caroline, Maggy Murphy, and many more. I still have ‘Golden Jade’ – her young this yr alone have won me £1400 in B and B. These will be my last ever sales as I am 86 now.
