I brought the Sire of the mealy cock for sale in Darren Mcfadden’s clearance sale. He was almost 10 years old when I brought him. I have retained a few birds off the old cock for stock. With some out on loan for co-breeding.
This will be the last direct child leaving from the Old Mealy.
The old cocks breeding is in lots of stud pedigrees who sell Mcfadden pigeons.
One of his daughters sold for £1,900 after scoring Multiple NFC positions, including at Tarbes. He has bred a fair few birds to go on and bred good pigeons. One son as bred good OLR bird Including into Scotland. He is G/Sire of top birds in national results into Scotland & Ireland.
The mother of the cock for sale was more like a pet than a race hen. Great temperament & a real character. She was a very consistent pigeon.
Reluctant sale, hence the price. This is the kind of money it would take for me to part with this cock. Impossible to breed again as I lost the mother racing her.
