British International Championship Club British Barcelona Club Central Southern Classic Flying Club Bordeaux Provisional Race Report Saturday 12 th July 2024 The BICC, BBC and CSCFC held another very successful joint race. The birds were liberated at 6.30 am on 14 th July. Many members duplicated in all three clubs, but the race produced an individual winner for each club. This race report covers the Open and Section winners in the BICC, BBC and CSCFC and is a combined report by Clare Norman and Mike Jackson. Thanks also go to Terry Peart for reports and photographs, this was much appreciated. The weather/race report Steve Appleby, the BICC race and weather advisor, provided the following report: The forecast for weather conditions to improve for a Saturday race from Bordeaux proved to be correct. The pigeons were liberated at 06:30 am under blue skies and broken clouds clearing the site immediately as reported by the convoyer. A good flight path with varying cloud formations were identified on the various satellite images. (see the image captured at 13:10) Some heavy showers did move along southern England during the afternoon from west to east. Winds were very light over the complete race route, mainly from the west or north west. (see wind flow chart) Generally visibility over the channel was exceptional recorded at 11 miles by the Met buoys. British International Championship Club Winner John Adams of Watford, 1 st OPEN 1 st SE Section & 2 nd OPEN 1 st SECTION D BBC JOHN ADAMS OF Watford. I would like to thank everyone for congratulating me, which was truly appreciated, and made it all the more special. I have been looking forward to the Bordeaux race all season as I thought it was the perfect distance for my birds. I had singled out my blue hen, 701, after her performances on the north road last year. She won 2 nd CLUB, 2 nd Thames Valley federation Perth 353 miles, and 2 nd CLUB, 2 nd Thames Valley federation Thurso 496 miles. For the last few seasons, I have raced on the celibate system but decided to pair a few of the birds for this race. Consequently, she was sent sitting a three-day old youngster and was very keen on arriving home. She went straight back to her box, covered the youngster and battered me, when I put food and water in her box. The winner, now named Northfield Expected, is a three-year old bred for the job. Her sire I purchased on PIPPA from Mark Gilbert being a son of Supreme Junior, 1 st National Pau BICC, 7 th National NFC Ancenis, 6500 birds, 49 th National NFC Tarbes 2500 birds. When paired to Southfield Producer, a daughter of Southfield Supreme. The dam I borrowed from my good friend, Brian ‘Dickie’ Boggins. Which he purchased from Crammond and Langstaff. A fantastic handling pigeon which is from Kanibaal Junior and Fortune Lady, of New Laureate lines. As I was about to verify the first, I had another one drop 4 minutes later, a 2-year-old blue chequer, which was my first bird from Messac. The sire being True Direction which raced really well winning: 1 st SECTION, 28 th OPEN BICC PERTH 750 BIRDS, 1 st SECTION, 12 th OPEN BBC PERTH 819 BIRDS, 3 rd SECTION, 3 rd OPEN BBC BLAYDON 1547 BIRDS, 3 rd SECTION, 42 nd OPEN BBC HEXHAM, 1078 BIRDS, 11 th SECTION, 67 th OPEN BBC BERWICK 945 BIRDS. The dam I purchased from Nigel Langstaff, a grandchild of 1 st OPEN NFC MESSAC AND LA BELLE ETOILE, A sister of Rolex 2 x 1 st and 1 st and 14 th NFC Saintes. Five minutes later, another two-year-old hen arrived from the same sire as the first bird when paired to an old favourite of mine, the Daniel Aerens hen. I purchased this hen on a visit to Daniel many years ago and she is responsible for many good pigeons. She is 14 years old and still sitting eggs. Overall, as I said, I was looking forward to Bordeaux and I was not disappointed. John Adams Northfield Expected on return from the race Verification British Barcelona Club Winner Rod Berry (Berry & Matthews), of New Milton, took 1 st OPEN, AND 1 st SECTION A OVER 408 MILES ON 1220. Myself and my wife Angela have been racing now for 56 years, although we have won up to 1 st Combine level this is by far our greatest achievement, and a dream come true. Our BBC WINNER FROM BORDEAUX IS, LEADER BOY A 2023 late bred chequer cock. The sire is from our old Janssen Van den Boche family, that originates from the loft of Ken Darlington. The dam is a Jan Hooman that was purchased from Louella stud. From our entry of 9 pigeons, we had 4 on the day with 2 more early next morning. We had another one later, making it 7/9. We fly our pigeons on the widowhood system, and we have done so since 1968, winning both north and south at all distances. Our pigeons arrived from Bordeaux in excellent condition, a credit to the convoyers and a special mention to the people working at the marking stations. Well done to all who clocked pigeons on the day. BBC winner Central Southern Classic Flying Club Winner. Ven Segesdy of Didcot, took 1 st OPEN 1 st NE Section over 464 miles on 1273. Ven arrived in Britain with his family as a refugee escaping from the troubles in Hungary in 1956, settling originally in Bristol. Eventually he moved to Didcot, where he now races from. The winning hen is a 2-year-old who has been lightly raced, this being her first overseas race this season. She was sent sitting overdue eggs and was very keen on the nest. Ven was confident that she would perform well, and duly pooled her in both the section and the open. She was purchased at the local breeder buyer sale, winning second place in that event. Her parents were bred by Van Ouwerkerk Dekkers, containing some Jelle Jellema blood on the sire's side. The winning hen was bred by Alan & Jill Webber. Ven wished to pass on his thanks to all the helpers at the Steventon marking station for their hard work over the season. Ven volunteered to take in refugees after the conflict in Ukraine broke out, having personal experience of the problems it could bring. To that end he took in a mother and daughter, the mother called Alla. Alla looks after the birds when Ven is away, so it is only fitting that the winner is now named Alla. Ven's final thought was that he had waited a long time for this result, so hopefully it's all the sweeter for that. 1st CSCFC. Alla, the lady at the back with dark hair, her daughter Anastasia with Ven Segesdy and Alan Webber holding the winner The BICC Provisional South Centre Section Winners 2 nd South Centre Section, 2 nd OPEN & 3 rd OPEN 2 nd SECTION D BBC, MARK GILBERT OF WINDSOR. WE SENT a team of 32 yearlings with the BICC and BBC. After much deliberation between us, we decided that an early bird would be about the 10 hours 45 mark, and we didn’t have to wait too long for our first arrival after that estimate. Our first arrival came at 17.33 covering the 452 miles with a velocity of 1200ypm. A little off the target but we were in the clock. We then had to wait 39 minutes for our next one but after that, they came quite quickly at 18.12, 18.13, 18.14, 18.19, 18.22, 18.28, 18.38 etc. We had 16/32 on the night and 4 dropped in early the next morning, so overall a really good team performance. Our first 8 arrivals were as follows: 1 - grandson of ‘Jack’ ‘Erin’ & Orion from Jelle Jellema on the father’s side and ‘New Laureaat’ 1st International Barcelona x ‘Special One’ 1st International Barcelona on the mother’s side. 2 - grandson of ‘Southfield Hugo’ 1st National BICC Perpignan 2017, 1st National BICC Barcelona 2018 & ‘Southfield King’ 1st Grand National NFC Tarbes 2020. 3 - grandson of ‘Queen Mary’ 1st Grand National NFC Tarbes 2019 and ‘Snow Prince’ 1st SECTION, 4TH GRAND NATIONAL NFC TARBES 2012 AND FATHER OF ‘QUEEN MARY’. 4 - GRANDSON OF ‘QUEEN Mary’ 1st Grand National NFC Tarbes 2019 and ‘Snow Prince’ 1st Section, 4th Grand National NFC Tarbes 2012 and father of ‘Queen Mary’. 5 - grandson of ‘Southfield Hugo’ 1st National BICC Perpignan 2017, 1st National BICC Barcelona 2018 & ‘Golden Barcelona’ the 2014 Barcelona Gold Wing Winner. 6 - son of ‘Southfield Euro Supreme’ 1st National BICC Tarbes 2022. 7 - son of ‘Southfield Gold Lady’ 1st National BICC Barcelona, 1st National BBC Barcelona 2020. 8 - granddaughter of ‘Southfield King’ 1st Grand National NFC Tarbes 2020, ‘Southfield Gold Lady’ 1st National BICC Barcelona, 1st National BBC Barcelona 2020 and ‘Golden Barcelona’ the 2014 Barcelona Gold Wing Winner. STEVE BUCKLE TIMED GB23B04819, A dark chequer cock of Janssen base. The bird has come well all season from Channel racing. I’d like to say well done to John Adam’s who helped me start up in the sport many years ago! Well done to all Open and Section winners, and all those giving their time to make these races possible. Thanks to Carole and Stuart for taking my birds to marking and thank you to all who phoned and texted me. My bird is a yearling cock bred out of House of Arden birds that I purchased. The bird is bred from a double grandson of Padfield’s Invincible, when paired to a double granddaughter of Iron Lady. Finally thank you to my fellow club members who make things interesting each week. 5 th OPEN 2 nd SECTION B, BBC & 3 rd OPEN 2 nd SW Section CSCFC, Mark & Julie Gower of Fordingbridge. Our pigeon was a yearling hen sat on overdue eggs that hatched while she was away. She was prepared for the race with 4 inland races up to 81 miles, as training, and then Alencon with the BICC, Nort-Sur-Erdre with the BICC & Classic and 3 weeks ago Guernsey, after which she was paired up and sat her first ever eggs. She looked very fresh on her arrival, testimony to care received by the transport team. She is bred from two Andy Parsons pigeons. The sire being from his 5 x times cock, flown Pau & Tarbes five times, when paired to a daughter of his 11 th OPEN TARBES. HOPEFULLY, WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET HER IN TO the NFC Tarbes team for next year. Congratulations to all the Open and Section winners across all three organisations in what proved to be a steady but successful race from Bordeaux. Our first arrival, a 5-year-old blue cock, now named Oakdene Bordeaux Dream, has been a consistent prize winner both north and south and is from Mark Gilbert bloodlines, through birds from Kevin and John Zeraffa. He has been raced on a form of roundabout all season but was paired up a week before basketing for Bordeaux. He was sent driving. He looked a picture when he went and was well fancied. He was in excellent condition on his return. Along with our other three entries he was ear marked for Tarbes or Pau at the beginning of the season having flown Pau, just out of race time last season, but we changed our focus to Bordeaux and sent them to Messac and Norte sur Erdre in preparation. He will also win the Premier 100 Club for his efforts and along with it, the club Snow Ball that has rolled over all season, picking up nearly £1000. Our second arrival just ten minutes later was a 4-year-old blue chequer hen, a nest mate to our 1 st Sect, 3 rd OPEN BBC CARENTEN YOUNG BIRD WINNER. SHE CONTAINS PAT’S OLD BUSCHAERT BLOOD CROSSED WITH Steve Visors Buschaerts. Bill & Pat’s 5-year-old cock birds Bill Edwards & Pat Harris 9 th OPEN BBC & 5 th OPEN CSCFC ROBBIE HOOPER OF POOLE. MY PIGEON WAS BRED FROM BIRDS GIVEN TO me by my late friend Pete Hollard of Lytchett Matravers. This hen was raced on roundabout, all my birds are flown on the north road, and I then switch them around to fly selected Channel races. I find this system to be very effective for me. All birds are fed on Gem corn. 1 st SECTION J BBC, JOHN BRADY OF BENFLEET. OUR 1 st SECTION WINNING HEN WAS SENT SITTING A 10-DAY youngster. She is bred from a long line of Jos Thone pigeons. Her dam was a gift to me from Jos Thone, from his Barcelona lofts. She was a second day pigeon last year, and she will now be rested and prepared for next year. 2 nd SECTION J BBC, LES STOCK OF ROMFORD. MY PROBABLE 2 nd SECTION PIGEON IS A 3-YEAR-OLD BLUE widowhood cock flying his 3 rd CHANNEL RACE OF THE SEASON. BOTH THE SIRE AND DAM WERE BRED BY MARK Bulled from his old family. Although a bit off the pace overall, I enjoyed a pleasing race with my first 4 birds looking quite fresh on arrival, after 12 -14 hours. Hopefully a turning point for me after a lean couple of seasons. 1 st SECTION H, BBC PAUL MAUGER OF GUERNSEY. FIRST OF ALL, I WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE BERRY AND Matthews for winning this race, I would also like to thank Clare and everyone who was involved in getting our birds to the marking station. My section winning pigeon was a chequer cock flown on the roundabout system he was sent to Nort sur Erdre prior to this race, the parents of this pigeon were purchased from D & D McFadden and are Mark Guilbert x Geoff Cooper lines. My second pigeon was a blue hen also flown on the roundabout system and was a section winner this year from Nort sur Erdre she is also Mark Gilbert’s Southfield supreme lines. Robbie Harper John Brady Les Stock Paul Mauger’s cock bird BBC Open and provisional North West BICC Section Winners 1 st North West Section, 9 th OPEN BICC & 8 th OPEN, 1 st SECTION E BBC TEAM AUREL OF IRON BRIDGE. What an incredible day of racing from Bordeaux! What a thrill! I was watching my son play in the musical Grease at school and we were hoping for a good bird to arrive at 8pm. Guess what? Musical started at 8pm and our first pigeon arrived at 8:01pm. The atmosphere of the musical was electrifying, and tears were flooding my eyes seeing my handsome boy on stage. The phone was buzzing with people congratulating me. I could not cope with the emotions, as I cannot deal with people telling me "well done!”. You can criticise me all day and that's motivating to me, but if you tell me "well done " I hide in a shell and say nothing. So, I turned the phone off to enjoy my son singing his heart out. Obviously, we had to call the pigeon ‘Grease Lightnin' to match the atmosphere of the show. I turned the phone back on at 21:45 to realise we had 3-day pigeons from Bordeaux. No way, it cannot be true from 540miles! To carry on the electrifying emotions of the musical we realised that "Grease Lightin'" is a gift from our friend Sorin Florea from the famous line of Mr Gijs of Piet de Vogel. It is currently 1 st NW Section BICC and 1 st pigeon over 500 miles on the day taking 1 st Sec E in BBC. To see her 9 th OPEN POSITION against 1486 birds flying against unfavourable western wind, it makes us very proud. The second and third pigeons are from crosses with pigeons of famous fanciers we look up to: our second arrival of the night is from Champ Vasile when crossed with Mike x Daughter of famous Pipi (5 times Barcelona ) of Lee and Kevin Buddle. Our 3 rd pigeon is from Champion Vasile x Little Wingdown Tia of Bob and Anthony Beasant. Thank you, guys, for being part of our life! What a beautiful day to be alive! This is what the dreams are made of ... well done to the winners and to everyone competing and thank you BBC, as the birds returned in immaculate condition! 4 th SECTION E, BBC PAUL DEWSNAP OF STOKE ON TRENT. A TRULY OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE FROM PAUL timing 11 out of his 14 entries flying 570 miles in to Stoke on Trent. Paul’s first bird dropped on to the loft as it was almost dark on the day at 9.45pm just before the hours of darkness came in, having flown for 15 ¼ hours. This 3 year old dark cock was bred from Keith Bush pigeons and the Scottish fancier, Charlie Camerson’s Duracell lines. The rest of Paul’s birds couldn’t have been too far away as the next morning they started to arrive at 6.51am with the next at 7.10, then 7.34, 7.45, 8.38, 9.20, 9.30, 9.36, 10.37 and 11.36. Paul said that it hadn’t sunk in how the birds arrived and he was over the moon with the team performance. Paul ended up with 13 out of 14 with just one away. 2 nd North West Section, 16 th OPEN BICC, 2 nd SECTION C, BBC & 2 nd NW Section CSCFC were Trevor Booth & John Roper of Tewkesbury. We timed a dark chequer hen, on the roundabout system. This hen has been consistent over the years. Last year she scored from Sigogne in the NFC to take 6 th Sec, 27 th OPEN. FROM ST PHILBERT IN THE BICC SHE WAS 5 th SECTION, 107 th OPEN. THIS YEAR SHE HAD A HARD RACE in the NFC Messac race and the plan was for her to go to Tarbes in the NFC, but we felt she needed more time. Hence, she didn’t go to Tarbes, thankfully, but went to Bordeaux instead. Her sire was bred by Tony Cowan and he is a grandson of Shepherd’s Delight, paired to a sister to Olympic Rik, 1 st Barcelona National and 51 st International. Her dam is a Daughter of Sportsview Diamond, winner of 8 th SECTION, 8 th OPEN SAINTES IN THE MCC, 25 th SECTION, 85 th OPEN SIGOGNE NFC, AND 4 th SECTION, 7 th OPEN NORTE SUR ERDRE MNFC. COULD SHE BE OUR BARCELONA HEN FOR NEXT YEAR? We sent 4 birds and timed 2 on the day. We would like to send congratulations to the open winner and all section winners. We would also like to thank the team at Steventon marking station for all their hard work. 3 rd North West Section, 32 nd OPEN WAS MARTIN WILLIAMS OF HEREFORD. MARTIN TIMED GB22N70327 over 502 miles on 1095. Team Aurel’s birds Booth & Roper Central Southern Classic Flying Club 6 th OPEN MICK SKIDMORE OF HAVANT. MICK TIMED, GB22N55302, OVER 411 MILES ON 1160. 8 th OPEN JIMMY WEARN & ERIK NEILSON OF RAMSDEAN. THE PARTNERSHIP TIMED AT 17 11 38 OVER 421 miles on 1156. 9 th OPEN RICHIE THOMAS OF PORTSMOUTH. THE PIGEON I TIMED IN WAS A GIFT BIRD FROM GORDON EMM from Fording Bridge, New Forrest. I timed two, the other one was in the clock after the first one. They were given to me in late August and never trained when they were youngsters, so this year I started to train them with the rest of the team. One was in the stock shed and one a widowhood hen, that both started training and went to the races. I sent 10 and got another 2 hens, this time the two were from Mark Evans, so I had four on the day. One more came the next day. Can I say well done all who clocked on the day and thanks to the team for looking after the pigeons so well. And a big thanks to Jayne and Mick Chalmers for helping me. 2 nd NE Section Kevin Godfrey of Chipping Norton. My dad lives in Wales, so it was good to get one on the day because he came up to watch the birds from this race. It can be quite stressful waiting with an 85-year-old, because everything that flies, according to him, is a pigeon. So, for three hours all I heard was, ‘here’s one’, be it a wood pigeon or dove! The racing pigeon we did time, was a six- year-old flown on widowhood. He had his hen the night before with bowl and straw, and he had two CHANNEL RACES EARLIER IN THE YEAR. THE BREEDING SIRE BEING A GIFT PIGEON FROM MY GOOD FRIEND GRAHAM Caple of Northampton. This bird raced well for me, topping our fed a couple of times. The mother is from my old William Geerts family, when crossed into Jansen from Sheldon Leonard Ireland. He came in good condition, and I would like to thank the convoyer for looking after the birds so well. Jimmy Wearn & Erik Neilson Richie Thomas Kevin Godfrey The BICC South West Section and CSCFC NW Section Winners 1 st South West Section, 14 th OPEN BICC, 1 st SECTION C BBC, & 1 st NW Section 10 th OPEN CSCFC GEOFF & Catherine Cooper of Peasedown St John. We timed a yearling hen, now called Faith, having her fourth Channel race of the season, flying Messac ten days prior to basketing for Bordeaux. She was sent on a small young bird. She is bred from a son of Ivy, 1 st Int St Vincent hens when Ivy was paired to a son of Invictus x Wollongong, the dam is bred from Jellema stock. This pairing of Geoff’s Farmer George/George bloodlines paired to the Dutch imports form the new base of the family and is producing some very good results. Congratulations to all the winners on a hard day and to Team Aurel on clocking four pigeons on the day at 542 miles. 2 nd South West Section, 25 th OPEN WERE C & J HOWSE OF DEVIZES. FIRSTLY, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE winners and our section winners, Geoff and Catherine Cooper. The bird we timed is a three-year-old raced on the chaos system. He has been a good consistent pigeon with good positions, including 34 th Open NFC Fougueres, but this is his first trip over 400 miles, and he is bred down from our old family crossed with a Janseen from Ponderosa. Maybe one for the Internationals next year? We had all our five birds’ home by lunchtime Sunday. 3 rd South West Section, 27 th OPEN WERE MR & MRS NIGEL NUTT OF STREET. THE PARTNERSHIP TIMED GB20N36009 over 441 miles on 1108. Geoff & Catherine Cooper's hen Chris & Jane’s Howse bird The Provisional South East Section Winners 1 st South East Section, 3 rd OPEN WAS PINE WALK LOFTS OF BROMLEY. TOM FIRMINGER WAS DELIGHTED WITH his 1 st SECTION WIN. ‘THE BEST POSITION I’VE EVER TAKEN, WHAT A FEELING AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!’ TOM TIMED a grizzle hen, now called Pinewalk Lousie, who raced well as a young bird, flying Guernsey 3 times and in the first 2 to 3 back home. The bird was bred by Kevin Gillam of Seldon and is a similar way bred to his own family of grizzles originating from Chris Baxter of Yorkshire. Tom is hoping that these pigeons are going to develop into a good racing team for him. 2 nd South East Section, 15 th OPEN BICC & 2 nd SECTION G BBC, TOMMY SPARKS & PAULINE DALLAS OF Gravesend. Congratulations to all those that have timed pigeons. Our pigeon, GB23A84637 is one of our own bred with mixed bloodlines. He has flown very consistently on Channel races this year. 3 rd South East Section, 17 th OPEN WAS MR D COWARD-TALBOTT OF CHELMSFORD. DAVID TIMED A BLUE chequer pied hen, GB 21 N 85687. This has been a very consistent hen for me and on the day was my fancied pigeon for this race. Her sire, a mealy cock, Belg.19 6096845, De.Witte x dam Grizzle pied Belg.18.6243848, Luc Vermeerbegen. Although not necessarily bred for the distance, this hen, on my system, proved what a good pigeon she is. Her sire and dam are owned by Lee and Ian Sullivan of Brighton. Her first race across the Channel was last year as a 2-year-old and she was prepared this year particularly for Bordeaux. SECTION WINNER, PINEWALK Louise Tommy Sparks & Pauline Dallas David Coward-Talbot The Provisional North Centre Section Winners 1 st North Centre Section, 52 nd OPEN WAS L A SMITH OF WELLINGBOROUGH. BORDEAUX NORTHERN CENTRE SECTION WINNER ANDY SMITH WAS DELIGHTED TO HAVE A BIRD ON THE DAY. FOR THE TWO-YEAR-OLD HEN, BRED from stock Steven Van Bremen sent over just before lockdown, this was an ideal distance. However, with intermittent showers and a North East wind, Andy knew it would not be the easiest race. Yet he has faith in his beloved Bremans. This particular hen had made a few mistakes previously, but he persevered with her, and his planned training routine paid off as he watched her regain her confidence and fitness this season. Did flying natural, which led to her accidentally becoming one of two hens paired to the same cock, his famed Treble X, give her extra impetus to get home quickly? She had a baby, who had hatched one day prior to her being basketed, waiting for her. She timed into Little Harrowden lofts at 20.49.59 on Saturday evening looking rather tired but otherwise in good fettle. Days like this make pigeon racing worthwhile, said Andy. 2 nd North Centre Section, 56 th OPEN WAS DOMINIC GRUZELIER HOUGHTON CONQUEST. AFTER A LONG WAIT with the sky looking overcast and dark, a home bred yearling blue cock, having had 14 hrs on the wing, flying through the rain dropped looking quite bedraggled. He has been on widowhood all year and was paired, but after a fight in his box he ended up going to the race driving. He’s been 4 th or 5 th CHANNEL PIGEON ALL YEAR. HIS FATHER IS THE OBERHOLSTER UNRUNG COCK, WHO HAS BRED MANY WINNERS AND good pigeons. The mother is a daughter of New Piraat Gino Clicque. I bought these from PIPA in 2021 and she is now proving to be a good breeder, being the mother to many other good pigeons. 3 rd North Centre Section, 60 th OPEN WAS MIRCEA LIVIU DEHELEAN OF WELLINGBOROUGH. MY FIRST ARRIVAL from Bordeaux National was a blue yearling cock bird, GB23B00842, who was raced on a 4-day old youngster on the nest. His father was bred by my cousin Cristian Nicola. He is double inbred to our best breeding hen, Miss Messi, who is a cross between Verweij de Haan x Jellema. His mother is a gift from my good friend Dan Nitoiu and is a cross between Wijnands x Peiren x Imbrecht Germain. Andy Smith Dominic Gruzelier Mircea Liviu Dehelean The Provisional North East Section Winners 1 st North East Section, 71 st OPEN WAS DEAN JONES OF SIBSEY. FIRSTLY, I’D LIKE TO CONGRATULATE JOHN Adam’s on winning the race and all the other section winners. Just a few details about my section WINNER, SHE IS A 2-YEAR-OLD JELLEMA HEN FROM STOCK OBTAINED FROM JAN MORSINK. SHE IS FROM THE ORION x Dirke lines. Bordeaux was her 3 rd CHANNEL RACE OF THE SEASON HAVING PREVIOUSLY FLOWN FOUGERES AND Messac. She went sitting a pair of 4-day old chicks. 2 nd North East Section, 102 nd OPEN, WAS JONATHAN PALMER OF IPSWICH. THIS WAS MY HEN’S 3 rd BICC RACE THIS YEAR. SHE WAS MEANT TO FLY NFC TARBES AGAIN THIS YEAR BUT WENT AND LAID BEFORE BASKETING. That wasn’t part of the plan, so she stayed home. Her partner was very late from Tarbes, so she left the eggs and had just started to pair with another cock before sending to Bordeaux. Her sire is one of my best racers, that I bred myself from the stock loft. The dam is a Marley Westhrop hen bred by David Bycroft of York. 3 rd North East Section, 107 th OPEN WERE EDDIE & CLAYTON OXBOROUGH OF NORFOLK. THE PARTNERSHIP timed GB22B02917 from 540 miles on 803.
