Lanarkshire Federation-Wooler 3

Lanarkshire News-Magical Hat-trick of wins for Paul Macaloney

This week we are back at Wooler for our third race of the young bird programme, the weather was a little kinder this week and the race controller had the birds away at 8am in a light WNW wind turning North on route.

The winners started hitting the boards in 1 hr 53 minutes for the 77 miles recording a velocity of 1203 ypm.

Three 1st Open federations in three weeks for the brilliant Paul and Charlene Macaloney, what can be said about the Macaloney's that hasn't been printed by myself over the years. They are just World Class!.

1st Open winners Paul and Charlene Macaloney

Flying a small team of 21 ybs throughout the season and dominating the federation is remarkable. Proving that numbers doesn't count if you have the right management and quality of pigeons.

This week they take 1st,2nd,3rd,5th,6th,7th,8th,9th,10th,11th,12th,14th,44th,84th,85th Open federation from 1,995 birds with 21 birds sent by Paul. 21sent 21 returned.

Their winner is nest mate to last week’s 1st Open federation winner out of their Blizzard lines. Unbelievable strike rate from Gambino Blizzard, Sister Rosalie. A virgin stock pair added this year. Gambino is Pauls own proven MAC lines and to produce Gambino Blizzard he was coupled once again to the outstanding Miss Golden Blizzard.

This week’s 1st Open federation for Paul Macaloney

Sister Rosalie is one third he selected bloodlines from Tom Burkills sale from the original Kittel bloodlines.

Charlene's first time setting up for the race preparation including basketing and sending away from club, what a start for her management taking 13 from the first 14 Open federation positions.

Well done again to the brilliant Macaloneys.

Cameron & Fan winner of 1st Centre section. Jim and Sammy timed a lovely mealy hen from a Heremans Ceuster  from C Jackson & Son of Cornwall bred with a Ian Stafford ,Lambrecht hen .She was showing up to a young cock for a couple of days gave her the motivation to race home.

Alan Nelson winner of 1st club Burnbank & 1st West section

Just wanted to send you some details of my dad’s(Allan Nelson)section winner from Wooler on Saturday. She’s a blue hen bred from a G.W.P cock/De Rauw-Sablon hen. The sire’s a son of b-52 and devils daughter purchased from Tumley lofts last year. This hen already has a 7th club/7th sec from Wooler 1 this year. The G.W.P cocks also bred a 2nd club/2nd sec from Wooler 1,while paired to a Jim smith(from Blantyre) pigeon. Safe to say he’s delighted with this cocks first year’s breeding so far. His second bird is a Cheq  w/f hen to be 5th club, 5th section, this hen already has a 3rd & 13th section this year and has been on the drop to win the last two races but has trapped poorly. She’s a Leo Herman’s/Jim Hannah bird. He’s delighted to win the section as he’s been chapping on the door the last couple of weeks. Thanks to race controller for a great season so far with 33/33 from race.
