Lanarkshire Federation-Alnwick 1 race 22/08/26-"Unbeatable”

This week we arrive at Alnwick in Northumberland around 97 miles back  North into lower Central, Scotland.

The weather was settled and with light winds it looked a decent race forecast. The birds were liberated at 08 30am in a light North West wind.

This week’s winning pigeons took 2 hrs  for their 94 mile journey with a velocity of  1375 to the brilliant Paul Macaloney.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about the brilliance of Paul Macaloney and with the support of his wife Charlene they are just unbeatable.

King of the Road this week’s 1st Open federation for Paul Macaloney.

Pedigree of 1st Open federation

It doesn't matter the wind direction the race point they just keep producing with Paul stating they are the best team of pigeons he has raced at this time of their development.

This makes it 4 x 1st Open federations from 4 races.

Unbeatable performance that is  "World Class"  against top level competition!

Pigeons fanciers have all the same objectives when racing which is to compete and be the best but very few become a recognised names throughout the sport and Macaloney has achieved such a status with his racing and breeding performances.

Winning lofts of Paul Macaloney

When racing against them they just blow the convoy out the water and they are just  class!

21 youngsters raced and 21 for next season , never beaten by a total convoy of over 7,000 birds .

Pair of class youngsters out of Paul Macaloney stock.

I’m not up to speed with the top lofts in Europe in relation to numbers sent against total number of pigeons competing but I feel this will take some beating for 1st prize.

Paul has already stated that this was his last week of racing with a team of 19 pairs for next year’s competition.

Well done to the "Unbeatables" they can now enjoying other aspects of their life's.

Well done to both of them.

It was an excellent race with 34/36 home to date

They would like to congratulate Paul & Charlene Macaloney on another superb performance  and aslo other section prize winners.

Centre section winners Barclay McCrindle & Son.

They can a brilliant race winning 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,,7th,8th,section. 10 birds in top 40 of the Open federation is top flying .

The partnership have been a big name in Lanarkshire since recently joining the ranks. They have specialised in young bird racing with a view to carry this into old bird racing.

Their  results are outstanding and up with the best in the country, with plenty of ace awards over the last few seasons.

Their winners are a mixture of all their old Custer lines with some new lines they have brought in .Youngsters bred from their own races which is particularly satisfying.

Although we have recorded 1st,1st,2nd section in the previous three races we haven't been completely happy with the way the birds have been coming .We felt there was more to come from them and they just needed a little more  time to mature and find their feet.

Hopefully they continue to progress and gain valuable experience and we will see the best of them. All in all we are a bit happier with this performance and the direction the team is heading.

Again we would like to congratulate Paul & Charlene on 1st Open federation. Also James & Gary Green and HBW partnership on their section winners.
