Lanarkshire News - Wooler 13/06/26 - "Class is Permanent”

This week due to parking issues at Alnwick our birds were taken back to Wooler in Northumberland for their flight back to lower Central, Scotland.

The convoy of 1950 birds were released at 07 15hrs  in excellent conditions flying for the 78 miles back to this week’s winning loft.

The name Macaloney is recognised by fanciers throughout the world for their brilliant performances and this week was no different by taking 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,7th,8th,9th section and Open federation.

This week’s winner of 1stNorth sect,1st Open federation for Paul Macaloney

Outstanding result with his small team of yearling that have won 6 x 1st Open in their last twelve races.

Paul & Charlene Macaloney have blended their new Blizzard Kittel lines with GWP Macaloney winning lines to create arguable the best small team performance pigeons in the land.

This week their small team of hens are the first over the pad taking the first four in the Open.

These birds are already multiple winners and on the race management team of Paul they are  a force to be reconned with at their chosen distance.

It’s hard to contemplate when you think you have a decent pigeon recorded that the Macaloneys have such numbers at the front.

They have the system and pigeons that are just miles ahead of the pack and into a head wind makes it all the more remarkable.

When speaking to Paul he described how these little warriors returned very low "cutting the grass "on their arrival.

Paul is only concentrating on races up to 200 miles this season and its obviously working with 13 of the 19 sent in top 24 of the Open federation. Just breath-taking result from a loft that just oozes class!

The winning chequer hen  224 is a double granddaughter of the Golden Blizzard/Maniac lines and completes her 2 x 1st Open performance.

Well done to the magnificent Macaloney's flying the flag for excellence in pigeon racing!

1st West section,12th Open is Davie Allison of Burnbank club with a dark cheque hen who is no stranger to prize winning. Her Sire is a son of Davies No 1 stock pair of Herman Custers, he is a brother to 6 x 1st section winners plus multiple other federation prize winners .Her Dam is a blue Custer hen off the Safier lines. Dam of many prize winners including 7th Open Billericay when the loft was 2nd & 7th Open.

The race itself was somewhat more refreshing than the previous weeks, with excellent returns which tells you everything about when we step over 100 miles and the difficulty our pigeons have to home because they are being hit continually by falcon attacks.
