GB2025 V 45344 · "Golden Euro"Son of a 1st Final Europa Masters winner and a 2nd Ace Algarve Golden Race hen, carrying Gaby Vandenabeele's "Suzanne" three times

"Golden Euro" is bred from two of the strongest One Loft Race performers in the Mike Chadwick loft. His sire "Euro" won the 1st Prize Final of the Europa Masters OLR 2022, worth €30,000. His dam "Gold Wing" was 2nd Ace Pigeon in the 2023 Algarve Golden Race from an original entry of 7,307 birds, winning €25,000. Both parents are proven at the top of the One Loft game, and both trace back to the same foundation hen, Gaby Vandenabeele's "Suzanne".

The Sire — GB2022 V 62147 "Euro / Europa"

Blue Cock · 1st Final Europa Masters OLR 2022 · proven breeder

Euro won the 1st Prize Final Europa Masters OLR 2022, €30,000, in what was his sire's first year at stud. He backed it up with 21st Ace from 1,141 and 62nd from 783 at 267km. The card records him being sold on PIPA for €18,200.

He has since bred on. His son GB2026V41318 won 1st Hot Spot 1, Who Dares Wins OLR, from 649 birds, and his GB2024V28820 was 1st UK and 10th Open in the Pattaya OLR, 330km, from 7,229 birds. The card also names him as grandsire of the 1st Europa Masters Special Race 2024/5 and of 4th Final Tuscan Sun OLR 2024.

Euro is himself deliberately bred: his sire "GQ" and dam "Miss Barlow" are half-brother and half-sister, both out of "Suzanne", which makes him 12.5% inbred to that hen.

The Dam — GB2023 V 29129 "Gold Wing"

Chequer Pied Hen · 2nd Ace Pigeon Algarve Golden Race 2023 · €25,000

Gold Wing was 2nd Ace Pigeon in the 2023 Algarve Golden Race, a race the card describes as the largest One Loft Race in Europe, from an original entry of 7,307, winning €25,000. Along the way she was 16th Open Hot Spot 1 from 5,233 birds at 154km and 85th Hot Spot Portalegre from 4,738 birds at 230km. Consistency over three legs against fields of that size is what wins Ace awards.

She comes from a family that keeps producing. Her full brother "Storm" (GB2024V28840) was 38th Open and 2nd UK in the 2024 Algarve Golden Race final, original entry 7,182; another full sibling, 23V29017, was 47th Final UK Premier OLR 2023; and "Hermes" and "Artemis" were 30th and 33rd in Hot Spot 3 of the 2025 Algarve Golden Race. Her maternal grandsire is "Hurricane", 1st Prize Final Who Dares Wins OLR 2020, £40,000.

Mike Chadwick has to be one of the most successful Breeders of OLR pigeons world wide Bird for bird when you consider the relatively small team of birds he keeps compared to most !!
