GB25 V 45366 “Definative”A son of an original Gaby Vandenabeele stock cock, out of a double granddaughter of the hen who bred the 1st WDW OLR winner
“Definative” is a 2025 blue cock bred at Barlow from “Breeze”, a stock cock bred in Belgium by Gaby Vandenabeele himself and a direct son of Vandenabeele’s “Zitterke”. His dam, “Maxine”, carries the loft’s best One Loft family twice: she is a double granddaughter of “Suzanne”, dam of the 1st WDW OLR 2020 winner and grand-dam of the 1st Europa Masters OLR 2022 winner. Original Belgian stock blood on one side, a concentrated and proven OLR line on the other.
The Sire — BELG2017-3008336 “Breeze”
Bred by Gaby Vandenabeele for stock · direct son of Zitterke
Breeze was bred by Gaby Vandenabeele and kept for stock, which is what makes this bird unusual: Definative is one generation from an original Vandenabeele-bred cock, not several removed. Breeze’s sire is “Zitterke” (BELG2011-3070033), described on the card as a winner of multiple prizes in fields of up to 16,859 birds, and himself inbred to “Wittenbuik” — in the card’s words, the number one foundation cock for Gaby Vandenabeele.
Breeze’s dam is “Ria” (BELG2011-3175765), another Vandenabeele stock hen, bred directly from “Returned Bliksem” (BELG2005-3006569) paired to the stock hen “Dochter Caesar”. So the sire brings the Wittenbuik line through his father and Bliksem blood through his mother — the two pillars of the Vandenabeele loft in one cock.
The Dam — GB2022V62207 “Maxine”
Full brother × full sister · double granddaughter of Royal Bliksem and Suzanne
Maxine was bred at Barlow from two full siblings, both by “Royal Bliksem” (BELG2017-3008483) out of “Suzanne” (BELG2017-3008494), both bred by Gaby Vandenabeele. The mating was deliberate: it puts the loft’s best OLR breeding pair into one hen twice. The card calls Suzanne “probably the best breeding OLR dam around”.
Maxine’s sire, “Barlow Star” (GB2018V02761), is a half-sibling to the 1st WDW OLR winner, which won £40,000, and a brother or half-brother to the parents of the 1st Europa Masters OLR 2022 winner — the bird that won €30,000 and was then sold on PIPA for €18,200. In the breeder’s words, “this is the best line we have ever owned.” Her dam, “Blue Power” (GB2018V02870), has bred winners herself: 21A32032, 1st Club and 10th Fed Exeter, and 21S39053, 7th in Roger Nind’s Gold Ring race over 211 miles.
Mike Chadwick has to be one of the most successful Breeders of OLR pigeons world wide Bird for bird when you consider the relatively small team of birds he keeps compared to most !!
Having already secured 3 separate OLR Victories with this superb family of pigeons his drive to produce even more is relentless.
I have know Mike for some years now and his Knowledge and ability to breed outstanding stock is phenomenal !!
I have handled every one of these and the buyers will not be disappointed !!
