GB-25-C- 74892 BLUE CH HEN Bred from a half-brother and half-sister by Bylaw, with The Lawman behind both sides and the breeder's No 1 hen as granddam
25-C 74892 is a young hen bred deliberately close to one cock. Her sire and her dam are both children of "Bylaw" (23-V 72188), the cock the breeder credits with breeding 2nd GYA from more than 1,200 birds plus numerous club winners. That 2nd GYA hen is her own dam, now breeding breeder/buyer winners. Behind Bylaw stands the Dutch syndicate cock "The Lawman" (NL-21-1193841), who comes in a second time on the dam's side through her great-granddam "Erin".
In the breeder's own words: "Will make a top stock hen with her blood. Goldmine for stock."
The Sire — 24-D 81624
Late-bred 2024 son of Bylaw · proven, now at stock
A late-bred 2024 cock whom the card records as proven and now at stock. The card gives no race record for him; he was kept for what he carries. He is a son of Bylaw, so on the sire's side this hen is a straight Bylaw grandchild.
His dam is 22-V 51476, a hen bred from two Dutch pigeons, "Yuri" (NL-20-1775679) and "Maggy Murphy" (NL-20-1775681). The breeder says she was sold for a large sum "after filling my loft with winners", and that Steve Price holds her sister, who is also breeding winners. That is the outcross element in this pedigree: a separate Dutch line, proven as a breeder in two lofts, sitting under the Bylaw blood.
The Dam — 24-N 33740
2nd GYA, 1,200+ birds · Bylaw × Golden Jade · breeding B/B winners
The performer of the pair. She finished 2nd GYA against more than 1,200 birds, the result the breeder lists under Bylaw as one he bred, and she has gone straight to work at stock: the card says she is "now breeding B/B winners", winners in breeder/buyer races.
Her dam is "Golden Jade" (23-V 72081), whom the breeder calls "my No 1 hen" and credits with £1,400 worth of breeder/buyer prizes this year alone. Golden Jade is by the Belgian cock "Blue Spider" out of "Erin" (22-V 51687), a daughter of The Lawman from "Stardust". So the dam carries The Lawman twice, once through her sire Bylaw and once through Erin, and on top of that she brings a winner-producing mother of her own.
Foot note from Howard himself.
In 2024 I was told I had stage 4 prostrate cancer which had gone to my bones, so I sold nearly all my race bird’s including stock. My last sale was due for Dec 2024 with 20 late breds and 4 stock birds. On my visit too Hull Hospital in Nov 2024 to see my consultant Doctor Patu, he informed me that he though my treatment was working because my P.S.I. was dropping from 940, and it is now undetectable, so I decided too give it another try racing, racing only 5 race bird in 2025 old birds on rubbers. They won or were first 4 in every old bird race, ending with 2nd GYA, 1200 odd bird’s.
I was invited to join a very strong club for young birds, and they flew really well winning a few races, in many arriving in bunches.
In 2026 old bird I was 2nd Fed ECT despite me going on a cruise for 2 wks. In young bird season: first Grantham 88ml 1st 2nd 3rd 4th, 1st Ebor Fed; Grantham (2) 1st club 1st Fed; Huntingdon 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th, first 4 in Fed; and in last race of season 1st club 1st Fed, Decoy Lakes.
Winning
3rd breeder buyer in GYA £400,
In the club 1st and 2nd breeder
buyer and £1,000.
So thats all bragging done, now onto birds.
Mostly ‘William De Bruije’ from syndicate loft, with a few Luc Vavort’s, all very nr the tree: Lawman, Blue Spider, Erin, Little China Girl, All the Aces, Yurri, Murphys Diamond, Red Rum, Sweet Caroline, Maggy Murphy, and many more. I still have ‘Golden Jade’ – her young this yr alone have won me £1400 in B and B. These will be my last ever sales as I am 86 now.
