RACING 2019 & AGM INFORMATION NEW MARKING STATIONS 2019 There will be a change in marking stations for 2019. Salisbury will NO longer be available but we will have two new marking stations at Frome (Livestock Market, Standerwick Centre) & Southampton (Sarisbury Social Club, Bridge Road, Sarisbury RACING 2019 & AGM INFORMATION NEW MARKING STATIONS 2019 There will be a change in marking stations for 2019. Salisbury will NO longer be available but we will have two new marking stations at Frome (Livestock Market, Standerwick Centre) & Southampton (Sarisbury Social Club, Bridge Road, Sarisbury Green, Southampton). These marking stations will be on a year’s trial basis to make sure they are viable for the Club, so please support them as promised if you wish them to continue. We have some Markers and helpers already but we will need more to make sure the marking of the birds runs smoothly. LONGEST OLD BIRD RACE Due to the result of the ballot, the longest old bird race will be flown from Barcelona with the International. So your 2019 race programme is as follows: 1 st Old Bird Race – Fougeres Saturday 11 th May, 2 nd Old Bird Race – Ancenis Saturday 8 th June, 3 rd Old Bird Race – Fougeres Saturday 29 th June, 4 th Old Bird Race – Barcelona International Friday 5 th July, 5 th Old Bird Race – Bordeaux Saturday 27 th July. Young Birds & Old Hens: Fougeres Saturday 31 st August. AGM The 2018 AGM was opened at 2.30pm. Apologies were given from some members who were unable to attend. The minutes of the 2017 AGM were passed and any matters arising covered. We received 73 resignations which were accepted with regret and the Club. As it was the end of 2018 business all offices were declared vacant and Tony Whitehurst kindly stood in as temporary Chairman. The 2019 BBC Committee and Officials are as follows: President – Jim Hooper, Chairman – Roger Hurst, Life Vice Presidents are: Jim Hooper, Mrs Hazel Hooper, Mrs Ingrid Jurd, Roger Hurst, Richard Green & Roy Ferriman. Life Vice Presidents serving on Committee - Dave Whitefield, Chris King & Nigel Rigiani, Committee – Martin Norman, Jill Rogers, Steve White, Bill Knox, Alan Shore and welcoming new Committee member Simon Parker. Secretary/ Treasurer – Clare Norman, Auditors - Jill Rogers and Dave Whitefield. 114 ballot papers were returned and the result was as follows. Proposition 1 – 56 For 41 Against Proposition 2 – 50 For 39 Against Proposition 3 - 84 For 22 Against Proposition 4 – 61 For 31 Against Proposition 5 - 43 For 49 Against Proposition 6 - 22 For 70 Against Proposition 7 - 36 For 58 Against Proposition 8 - 61 For 25 Against Finally, permission was given to destroy old documents and the AGM closed at 3.05pm. Your £20 subscriptions for 2019 are now due and must be paid before 1 st April 2019. Gold Ring Nominations for the Young Bird Race are available at £5 per nomination. Prizes are awarded for Open and Section positions on a pro rata basis. Application forms for new members are available on the website or by telephoning me and I will put one in the post for you.
