JOURNEY’S END – NIPA RACE REPORTS – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

BUDE BEAUTY ‘BLACK PEARL’ TOPS NIPA OPEN FOR JOHN J MCCABE

 A busy period commenced on fanciers with what is another treble weekend with the Bude channel race and Dunmanway/Dunmanway Yearling National this weekend. First up I’m covering the channel race from Bude, Cornwall, England. A total of 376 NIPA Members sent 4,724 Birds to Bude for the third trip across the water. Saturday morning the 13^th of June the birds were liberated at 08:45hrs in a West Northwest Wind.

The winning bird from the third old bird channel Race of the 2026 NIPA Season belongs to John J McCabe of Newry & District HPS in Section G.

John J McCabe 1st NIPA Open Winner from Bude with his loft managers

Making it a second NIPA Open win for J J this Old Bird Season. Winning previously with ‘Miss Finesse’ in May from Grenagh 15,833 Birds. This time winning from the channel from Bude. The 1^st Open winning pigeon has been named ‘Black Pearl’ and  clocked the winning velocity of 1279.264YPM. GB24 D 57649 is bred from JJ’s 1^st Open NIPA Pilmore Beach Winner paired to 1^st Open NIPA Tullamore. The sire’s bloodlines consist of Van Den Bulck/Lambrecht from Ian Gibb and dam is Gibbson Sootjen’s.

SECTION C REPORT

The Winner of Section C (60/702) from Bude was D. McElhone & Dtr of West End HPS. One of the most inform lofts of the season Davy and Maddie have added another Section C win for the season (702 Birds) with a finish of 29^th Open (4,724 Birds) The McElhone’s are very pleased with the performance of their birds being 1^st, 10^th, 22^nd,30^th, & 46^th section. They would like to thank their good friends the Browns from Dundonald for breeding their 2^nd Section winner from Dunmanway and their Bude Section Winner from Bude is a granddaughter from Lady Wheatcroft

The Winner of Section D (43/584) from Bude was D. Johnston of Derriaghy HPS. A memorable result from the channel in taking the first 5 in the club (56 Birds) and a even sweeter result in topping Section D and winning 3^rd section also (584 Birds) overall in the NIPA Open the section winning bird placed 15^th in the NIPA Open result (4,724 Birds) The Section Winner is bred by K. Johnston. The Sire is a direct Gaby Vandenabeele M&D Evans. The Dam is direct Danny Dixon of Dixie Chic. A great success in the NIPA also being 2^nd section NIPA 1^st Dale and 3^rd section NIPA 2^nd Dale.
