JOURNEY’S END – NIPA RACE REPORTS – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

SECTION G FANCIERS AT THE DOUBLE FROM CORRIN

The annual 5 Bird YB Championship got underway this weekend with fanciers doing their homework picking their favourite birds to compete. NIPA Members race marked for the trip to Corrin in Co. Cork as planned on Friday the 21^st of August. A total of 249 members of the NIPA sent a total of 5,170 birds to Corrin. 118 Members nominated 559 birds in the 5 Bird YB Championship. On Saturday morning the 22^nd of August the NIPA liberated in Corrin at 09:00hrs in a light North Northwest wind.

The Winning Bird from the sixth Young Bird Race of the 2026 NIPA Season belongs to John F McCabe & Son of Newry & District HPS in Section G.

John J McCabe Newry & District Winner from Corrin 5 Bird. Winner is half brother to his Pilmore Beach Open Winner the dam of Magician paired to a son off doonan cock x Ian Gibb hen

The father and son partnership of Newry have had a super year thus far and now have made it one better this weekend winning the overall Corrin Race. The Corrin 1^st Open winning youngbird clocked the winning velocity of 1336.494YPM. GB26 S 01807 was bred by Wayne Doonan of Cock Crow breeding lofts. The sire is Waynes number one stock Kittles Double having now bred 4x1st Opens. The dam is a Liedeman hen, a granddaughter of the famous Crack 19. This cock has previously won 4^th Open earlier on in the season.
