Pete Cox of Stretton takes 1st & 2nd out of Guernsey.

39 members sent 261 birds to Guernsey, convoyed by the Heart of England Federation. After a one day holdover, the birds were liberated at 06-40 on Sunday June 7th in a West South West wind.  Congratulations to Pete Cox of Stretton Flying club on taking 1st & 2nd fed on 1778; 1767; well done Pete from all at Stretton.

Alan Stretton of Swadlincote Town was 5th & 6th fed on 1763; 1759. Daniel Kurylo of Stretton was 8th fed on 1734.9.

Dave Waddington of Chaddesden Jubilee was 9th fed on 1734.1 and John Genders of Stretton was 10th fed on 1727.

At Stretton, 8 sent 76 and Pete Cox took 1st & 2nd on 1778; 1767; the winner was a 3yo blue Hereman Cuester cock off Ann Smith stock; out of “Wildwind” x ”Sagan” lines. He was followed by a 4yo blue cock; this one bred by Ann Smith; out of a Who Dares Wins OLR Ace pigeon.                          

Daniel Kurylo was 3rd club on 1734 with a 3yo cheq Hereman cock from his friend Rafal Andrzelczak of Birmingham.

Nice to see John Genders in the prizes, John only sent two, but got his nominated bird first to take 4th club on 1727 with a  3yo cheq cock out of a Jim Parker Hereman x Albert Babington Van den Bosche.  All these four pigeons appear in the fed top ten, well done lads.

At Chaddesden Jubilee, 10 sent 40 and Mick Stone got the winner on 1765, Mick timed in a 4yo Eric Ceuleman cock.   

Dave Waddington was runner up on 1734 with a 6yo cheq cock out of his Alan Brassington x “The Bat” line.  

Mark Yule was 3rd club on 1727 with a yearling Pied Ceuleman cock from Mick Stone; Mark broke this cock out and raced it, well done Mark. Stan Hall was 4th on 1717 with a 2yo bpd Van den Bulck hen.

At Etwall, 5 sent 31 and Mick Leszczyszak had a great day taking 1st; 3rd and 4th on 1714; 1660; 1654; his second arrival was a Delbar bred by Alan Peach. Well done Mick, nice to see rubbers and a T3 top the list. 

Alan Peach was runner up on 1675 with one bred off a pair from Pete & Shirley Harrison X Ray & Jean Lees.

At Swadlincote Town, 10 sent 74 and Neil Harvey was 1st & 4th on 1766; 1748; the winner a 2yo blue Vandenabeele x Cuester cock off Chris Vasey x Gary Cox stock. He was followed by a 3yo blue wf Van den Bulck x Cuester hen, off James Parker “Greipel” line x Chris Vasey x Gary Cox stock. 

Alan Stretton was 2nd & 3rd on 1763; 1759; the first a yearling dark cheq hen; her sire is a red cock from a Shaun McDonough pairing x G Farmer Hereman hen. She was followed by a yearling blue Hereman X Van den Bulck cock; his sire off James Parker of Reading out of “The Sultan” who was a son of “Donkere Leo” and a daughter of “Goede Rode”; his dam out of the best of Geoff Farmer’s Heremans.

At Winshill, 2 sent 9 birds and Debbie Fearn took the top three on 1722; 1682; 1660; the winner was a 2yo red pied cock; his sire is a nephew of “Tiger”; his dam a daughter of “Hideaway”. Runner up was a yearling cheq cock; his sire is out of the “Hideaway” line x the good Stefaan Lambrecht hen; the dam a Van den Bulck from Central lofts. 3rd club was a 3yo lavender cock; his sire out of the old lines x with a “Hideaway” x”Sweetie” hen.  

Scott Stringer was 4th on 1631 with a 3yo blue hen.

A big thank you to our Secretary and Convoyer Alys; for fetching and delivering the crates to the marking stations; and then taking the birds back to the central pick up point. Well done Alys.
