BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

Kev Matthews of Holbrook takes the top two out of Frome.

What a difference a week makes, after the poor race we had from Bath the week earlier, for reasons unbeknown to us all, Saturday August 22nd saw 44 members from 8 clubs enter 750 birds for the race out of Frome in Somerset, which were liberated at 11-25 in a light NNE wind.

The weather conditions virtually mirrored those of 7 days earlier, blue skies with light intermittent cloud, light Northerly winds, great visibility and comfortable temperatures. Thankfully the race out of Frome was a vast improvement, with good returns, a confidence boost for the birds and their owners.

Back to the race, and once again the Holbrook lofts were in top form, they are sending a good birdage, and it’s obvious they have their young bird teams in good health and fitness.
