JOURNEY’S END – NIPA RACE REPORTS – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

THE MCCABE’S GO BACK TO BACK

 The unsettled weather got the better of us fanciers with this week. The NIPA had meant to be holding a double header from Benamore and the Dale Channel National. But it was not possible to hold the Dale National this week due to bad weather and was rescheduled for next weekend weather permitting but nevertheless the NIPA Members race marked for the Benamore race in Co. Tipperary a day earlier than stated on Thursday the 27^th of August. A total of 218 members of the NIPA sent a total of 4,424 birds to Benamore 2. With an unfavourable start to the day for a liberation on Friday morning the 28^th of August the NIPA liberated in Benamore at 12:30hrs in a light Northwest wind.

The Winning Bird from the seventh Young Bird Race of the 2026 NIPA Season belongs to John F McCabe & Son of Newry & District HPS in Section G.

John F McCabe & Son 1st NIPA Open Benamore (2) Winner from 4,424 birds

 The father & son partnership of Newry has won 1^st Open two weeks in a row winning 1^st Open Corrin last week and now 1^st Open Benamore (2) this week a fantastic result. The Benamore (2) 1^st Open winning pigeon clocked the winning velocity of 1545.154YPM. GB26 A 25008 Sire is ‘Joint Venture’ co-breeding between the partnership and Sammy Ogle of Drumnavady HPS, being from the partnerships No. 1 cock Black Gold paired to Sammy’s Skibbereen National winner. The dam is bred by Ian Gibb. The hen is a dtr of Ian’s top breeding cock Kevin paired to a dtr of 100/100 from Luc Vervoort.

The Winner of Section C (28/531) from Benamore (2) was Bingham & Seaton & Dowie of Ligoniel & District HPS. A Loft in super form this season making it another win in Ligoniel (190 birds) and adding another Section C Win for the 2026 racing season (531 birds) this week’s section winner for the partnership earned a top place finish in 18^th Open NIPA (4,424 birds)
